This extension let's you keep performing your searches with your normal default search but you can use our background pictures and see how many ocean-bound plastic bottles our users have collected together.

★ Permissions ★
Like any other extension OceanHero needs certain permissions to function properly:
"Read and change data on all websites": This permission allows us to highlight companies on websites that pollute the environment.
"Communicate with cooperating websites": These permissions are needed to communicate with our web services.
"Replace the page that you see when opening a new tab": We will update your new tab page so that you can easily search with OceanHero every time you open a new tab.
"Read a list of your most frequented websites": The extension needs this permission to display your most frequently visited sites on the new tab page.

- (2023-06-29) Jaden McCown: It's a decent extension. It has a noble cause and it works well. My only complaint is that it does not use Google Chrome as it's search engine, instead it uses Bing. But other than that, it's solid!

In just two days, I took 50 bottles out of the ocean! And, this adds a much more happy background to google for me which is amazing because I can control what images it showcases. Additionally, in my shortcuts, they even include mini games for me to play which help take out bottles too! what an amazing feature this truly is! Help save the ocean!
