- (2025-09-13) Matthew Berry: This is the extension teachers need right now to properly evaluate student work composed on Google Docs. An incredibly impressive and useful suite of tools.
- (2025-09-13) Andrew Piner: This is an amazing tool for teachers. It provides a wealth of information about documents which is an indispensable support when marking assignments. I hope that it will attract all the funding it needs to remain free as it really is a game changer for educators in terms of the functionality and the insights it gives in this age of AI generated student work!
- (2025-09-11) Wojciech Simon Waliszewski: Using this with my agricultural plant science students. Gives good information, in a quick and easy format to access. I can see how long they worked on a piece of work and if they copy and pasted work, or wrote it themselves. I appreciate that it is free. Thank you.
- (2025-09-09) Clare Squance: I am a teacher, and I have found this free app to be incredibly useful. If I need to check on a student's work, I can see a ton of information about how they have interacted with a document. For example, I can see what has been copy/pasted from another location, and I can see how long a student spent actually typing their text. The feature similar to Draftback has also been useful. Highly recommend!!
- (2025-09-09) Stephanie Brenneke: I started using this this school year, and so far it has been very helpful. It loads pretty quickly, and I can quickly see if students completed their own work or if it was copied and pasted from other sources. I'm looking forward to doing the webinar to learn more things that I can use the program for. I really appreicate that it is FREE!
- (2025-09-07) Melissa Weldon: I am loving this so far! The amount of detail in the full reports is stunning. Please keep it free! There are too many things for teachers to subscribe to and we don't make enough money!
- (2025-09-07) Suzie Daley: Super impressed by the formatting and availability of this extension. THANK YOU!
- (2025-09-05) Christina Darrington: I love Process Feedback so far! I teach high school English and this has been very helpful for me to see the steps my students took to write their assignments. I have them write on a google doc and share it with me as an editor then they submit their link in Canvas.
- (2025-09-02) Rachel Galbavy: I have been happy with the features and feedback provided and will continue to use this resource.
- (2025-09-01) Scott Russell Morris: I'm a college professor and I find this so helpful. It's really great for helping me see a writer's process so that I can then comment on the process, not just on the final product. I'm really enjoying the conversations this is helping me have with students.
- (2025-08-29) Jennifer Bowles: Wowwwwwwwwwww. This is insanely helpful for teachers. Thank you!
- (2025-08-29) James Turner: Here is a great tool that provides transparency with regards to the student's writing process. The time actively typing data alone says something about student labor. Also, a quick glance at the calendar allows them to reflect honestly as they self-assess their writing habits. Writing accomplished in a single 3-hour session a day before a deadline says something. And writing accomplished during 30-minute "sprints" over a series of several days speaks something else. The color-coded chart gives a visual to the recursive process of revision work. This is a genius move by the process feedback folks. A quick glance tells the student the scope of their revision labor. IF we are going to AI proof our future, we need tools like this to celebrate and instill value in writing as a process. Granted, NONE of this means the writing is any good. BUT! Time on task, and all the tools to aid in self-assessment and reflection are keys to success for writers of all shapes.
- (2025-08-29) Allison Bradford: The most useful tool ever! As a teacher, it's amazing that it's free to use. That's SO hard to come by these days. I immensely appreciate it.
- (2025-08-29) Matti Jussila: Very good, has a lot of options and features, which allow for quick overview or a more thorough analysis. Fast and easy to use.
- (2025-08-26) Kellie Gudenas: This tool is extremely useful in my high school English class. I love that I can see a playback of the students' writing process, as well as places where they used copy/paste.
- (2025-08-26) Corie Mcdermott-Fazzino: I this is by far, the most helpful and useful tool I have leveraged as an English professor; and now that it is fully integrated with Google Classroom, it is a seamless part of my reviewing/grading process. First, Process Feedback provides indisputable evidence (in the form of a 'writing movie' and time stamps) that the student did the writing work. Second, the information I learn from the 'writing movie' helps me be more strategic and thoughtful about my own feedback to the student. Finally, students can watch the 'writing movie' and learn more about their own respective writing process: how long did you write; when did you double-back to revise; in what ways did your idea evolve; when did you write; etc. It helps students thinking metacognitively about their writing in an empowering manner. This tools is amazing. Please keep free.
- (2025-08-26) Ian Rennie: This looks like an excellent tool if you need further evidence to conclude whether or not learners have been misusing AI in their assignments. It is nowhere near conclusive but a useful tool in an educators armoury.
- (2025-08-25) Sarah Phelps: Process feedback provides quick, invaluable information about the writing process, including time spent typing, copy-paste events, etc. It's truly a game-changer for teachers.
- (2025-08-22) M S: An incredible tool, I am grateful for it's great versatility and straightforward interface.
- (2025-08-19) Rebecca Marston: The scope of this feedback is so helpful in validating student work in this AI era. Bravo. It's a fantastic tool that saves me hours of compliance conversations.
- (2025-08-14) Owen Williams: As an English teacher this is an incredible tool to understand the thought process of a student as they are writing. I am able to watch them construct the writing, and find places to personalize feedback based on their own approach. I have dreamed of being able to see this much process data for years, and I never thought it would be a reality.
- (2025-08-14) Sheralee Thomas: I'm an instructional designer and recommend this extension to all the faculty I work with. It is free and safe and is the best tool that I have found thus far to give to faculty to help them keep their students on the straight and narrow, so to say!
- (2025-08-13) Jennifer Hayton: Process feedback is a great tool to track how students are progressing with their work and where they may be using technology to assist them. However, I have found that if a student is voice typing it will show up as a paste event. This is also the case for spelling/grammar checks. This can make authenticity more challenging to prove for assessment work.
- (2025-08-08) A J: great extension, does what it says it does, for free. I use it for checking work that has been submitted. Very very effective
- (2025-08-07) Mark Davies: The way this interfaces with Google Classroom is a particularly effective part of what it offers.
- (2025-08-05) JASON KELLER: I have been an English high school teacher for the past three years and I just came across Process Feedback last semester and it is possibly one of the best tools for vetting student work I have ever used AND it's absolutely free! Conventional software for teachers like Turnitin might be useful for more traditional forms of plagiarism Process Feedback allows for me to look at smaller analysis writing submissions which I have found have a high rate of false positives for AI flagging. It is also far better than the tedium of looking at a students document history using google's native function. I love love love this plugin and would happily pay monthly for it should it ever decide to require a paywall!
- (2025-08-04) Haley Birkeland: I was so lucky when I ran into the creator of this extension at the LA Writer's Conference. I was looking for a replacement for Draftback (after they started charging a monthly fee) so I was excited to see a new option. I love the focus on the writing/creating process and the quick and easy layout of the reports. It has all the features of Draftback and MORE. The feature of being able to share a link to the report is a helpful addition too. The creators have gone the extra mile to share valuable resources in the provided teacher guide. I also appreciate the positive tone throughout the website about academic integrity and writing as a process.
- (2025-07-29) Jenni Moors: This is a great extension and well worth staying free for teachers
- (2025-07-20) Ros Robertson: This is a fantastic tool that enables me to be very specific with students about their use of outside help with their writing. It encourages trust and open communication that helps learning, rather than resentfully held suspicion that cannot be proven.
- (2025-07-17) Jacob Dunlap: Absolutely essential for educators. Thank you so much for this excellent tool. Like others, I'm looking forward to the "show external paste only" feature.
- (2025-07-17) Conrad Bredenkamp: Really helps me to get a good idea of what happened in the work that I am reviewing. A plethora of information that helps the teaching process forward.
- (2025-07-14) Melissa D'Angelo [Staff]: Love this tool so much and have caught a few students plagiarizing, unfortunately (but fortunately for having this program!). Please don't get rid of it - looking forward to the upcoming update you mention: "Show external paste only (coming soon..)". I really appreciate the "Paste" section and "Playback" section -- I use those ones most often Thank you for all your work and the fact that it is free :)
- (2025-06-26) John Sowash: What a great tool! There is no way you can STOP students from using AI. Instead, focus on the writing PROCESS! This extension is the perfect tool you need to understand HOW your students are writing. The insights that Process Feedback provides will help improve your writing process and support student learning.
- (2025-06-14) Rebecca Eastman: Wonderful program! can see so much information and helps with monitoring my students work! love it!
- (2025-06-11) Carolina Waters: It is a great extension. Very helpful to authenticate work and provide feedback.
- (2025-06-10) Evan Statema: Great extension. After deleting draftback due to it having a charging fee, I downloaded Process Feedback which offered the same thing as draftback, but free!
- (2025-06-09) Ashton Palmer: This is an excellent extension. The features are more useful than Draftback and it is faster. I really like that I can see the students scrolling up and down in their documents. It is helpful for authenticating the originality of work, but it is also useful in demonstrating what the writing process looks like to students who may not be as confident about their process.
- (2025-06-07) Matthew Wilson: When Draftback starting charging, I switched to this, and I have to say it's much better than Draftback.
- (2025-06-05) Caylee Stead: Excellent for English teachers. Please keep this free. Revision history is what I used to use and I had to stop after they started charging.
- (2025-06-05) Trevor Cameron: A tool that is literally essential to assessment post-AI. The fact that tools like this are not being created and made free by companies like openAI is criminal.
- (2025-06-04) WILLIAM DEACON: An incredibly useful tool for all Language teachers to ensure the integrity of the writing process within the classroom.
- (2025-06-04) hayson keller: I am an English teacher and this has been a game changer for monitoring student work. I'm not a fan of policing students but unfortunately it is my reality given the power and ubiquity of AI now.
- (2025-06-02) IOANA CIUPERCA: This tool is amazing! I can justify to a student the suspicion of plagiarized content using the extension info from all the copy/paste sessions. I will work this into my syllabus, with a clear specification of unacceptable digital behavior. Thank you for keeping it free!
- (2025-05-30) Kelly O'Brien-Yetto: This tool is a fantastic resource for teachers. It provides excellent, easy to understand information, and it integrates seamlessly with Google Classroom. I far prefer this to similar tools that I have used. It is also a fantastic resource to help substantiate claims about academic dishonesty.
- (2025-05-30) Nichole McCoy: Amazing resource!!!!! Love how easy it is to use and how much information it gives me.
- (2025-05-29) David Adams: Excellent and free. Tons of data on each document. Easy to use. Helpful tutorials for some of the more complicated features. My only complaint is that the "ribbon" pops up on documents even if I have the option turned off for it. It seems to only do so when the Docs toolbar at the top is minimized. That's a bit of an annoyance, but overall, not terrible.
- (2025-05-29) Kym Wasley: What a fantastic and helpful resource! I will recommend it to all my co-workers. Helpful tech to detect AI usage and so easy to use! I love that it is FREE !
- (2025-05-29) Yifan Shen: This is absolutely a powerful tool for teacher to understand the pattern of how students work towards their tasks. It also helps tremendously for teachers to identify potential academic misconducts so teachers can constructively help students from there.
- (2025-05-23) Jacqueline Perkins: I am truly impressed with the ease and wealth of information this gives me - so much better than Draftback was.
- (2025-05-23) Mary Graham: This app provides more information than Draftback, allowing writers to reflect more fully on their process. Helping address unauthorized AI usage is just another benefit!
