- (2023-09-12) Nate Barbettini: I don't use too many Chrome extensions, and I've never reviewed one, but this extension is simply awesome! Super simple to set up and it just works. It made tab groups usable for me in Chrome. Thanks Florian!
- (2023-08-22) Renee Wilson: Does exactly what it says it will. Thank you!
- (2023-08-22) Michael Lander: Great app! Would love if it could pull in maybe the most common favicon into the group display, or allow adding your own at least. Thanks for your work!
- (2023-07-24) Fantastic!
- (2023-07-03) Yoni Sade: It would be more useful to have a one click button to auto group all current tabs by domain/subdomain (but only when there are more than one per domain/subdomain to save space)
- (2023-06-15) Nitai Aharoni: Really helpful
- (2023-06-11) Haxwell: I don't really review extensions but thank you very much for this extension. Rare to find an extension that works exactly the way you want it. Please don't abandon it :)
- (2023-06-05) Pradeep Suthar: amazing extension
- (2023-05-03) Georgi Gamzakov: Awesome! Simple and fast to set up. Makes my life juggling 200 tabs at work so much better.
- (2023-04-27) Martin Chmelík: Best :) easy setup and for people like me who have 30 tabs or more open it's a life saver. Great job thanks
- (2023-04-11) dan p: best of the best, i never used chrome groups before and now with autoadd to groups this is amazing
- (2023-03-29) David Meredith: Makes tab groups so much more useful. Amazing work, thank you! One request if you think others may find it useful: Unassigned Group At the moment I have rogue tabs that sit inbetween tab groups and it can be difficult to notice / find them. It'd be good if we could group uncategorized tabs so that they appear in the same group / area? [Group A [1][2][3]] [Random tabs [a][b]] [Group B [1][2][3]] [Random tabs [c][d] [Group A [1][2][3]] [Group B [1][2][3]] [Random tabs [a][b][c][d]]
- (2023-03-23) Anathame: I don't know what the problem is but if I have google chrome open for about an hour the entire extension stops updating and I have to completely close chrome down to get it working again. Regardless of that it's really well made.
- (2023-03-21) Dario Trossero: This is the extension I was looking for to extend the tab management.
- (2023-03-10) Jeremiah Sanders: Love this extension. One feature request would be the ability to right click a bookmarked group of pages that I already have, and add all of those to a tab group by one button click (instead of manually going through and adding each page that I already have grouped in a bookmark folder). I'm lazy, I know.
- (2023-02-28) Jonathan: Incredibly useful, works precisely as expected. Definitely feels like something chrome should automise and have included as default. Happy the customisability exists for now though
- (2023-02-28) Tim Nusch: Love this extension! One future suggestion: Is it possible to add matching via title (in addition to URL) as well? For 90% of my use cases the URL is sufficient, however there are some where I would require a site title as well. Thank you Florian!
- (2023-02-15) H: Thanks for developing such nice tool. Just one suggestion, can you help disable the tab auto reloading when moving a group of tabs into a new window
- (2023-02-02) Stefan Bauer: Really solid tool: very helpful for keeping everything organised, works well, super clean UX! Ferature request: could we have an option for strict ordering of groups? I'd really like my groups to always be ordered in the same way they're laid out in the options.
- (2023-01-31) dezhanghao01 linshi: Sections of the website can be set by simply matching instead of the whole domain name would be awesome and it's very easy to set up what a great program is what i always wanted
- (2023-01-23) Jenny Lee: I love it! Thank you! Exactly what I needed, so simple and intuitive. But can you also automatically group "uncategorized" tabs (i.e., tabs that haven't been assigned to a group)? Basically a "NOT any of the added patterns" group. More colors would be nice too :)
- (2022-12-06) Max Winkler: Really slick. Wondering if it's possible to use the "*" solution but to isolate it to one already names window. I keep each of my clients organized in a named chrome window and also have a color coded tab group for each for visual cue. I would like all the tabs in each window to be auto-added to the colored tab group, if possible - just not across all open windows. I have considered using non-logged in Chrome Profiles, but then I have to have all my extensions and log-in info saved for each profile, which seems unsustainable and less helpful in the long-run.
- (2022-11-26) Андрій Кишкар: Thank you very much for such a wonderful extension, without which I can't imagine my life now.
- (2022-10-14) Rodolf Brillantes: This is awesome and folks have noticed it while screensharing that they want to use it. Piece of feedback, it would be nice if there was import / export for the config. Because some colleagues have seen it in action they were asking what my config was and I had to give them screenshots :D but still 5 stars and thanks for making this!
- (2022-10-14) Rajat: Simple and elegant. I do wish there was a way to automatically group tabs that don't have a group assigned to them into an "Other" or a user-defined group. That would greatly help minimize the clutter
- (2022-10-08) Josh Brek: Absolutely love this extension! Is there a place we can write suggestions? I think a great one would be: The ability to create a temporary group for duplicated tabs ("This domain or This domain and subdomains" pattern matching. I don't always want to create a permanent group for a random site that I'm browsing through and opening multiple links within that site to take up heaps of space. For example, I open Wikipedia, I open some related pages in new tabs. I think an option to create a temporary group with the title of the domain. I always open a billion tabs and I would love to find out better ways of accessing these without using a mouse. I'm not sure if these extensions would allow keyboard shortcuts to access certain groups? Keep up the great work!
- (2022-10-07) Slim H K: IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO USE A WEB BROWSER WITHOUT THIS EXTENSION IT'S A SHAME IT IS NOT BUILT-IN INTO EVERY BROWSER SINCE THE BEGINNING OF THE INTERNET. IT IS THE SOLUTION TO THE TAB HELL. ESPECIALLY, THE OPTION TO KEEP OR NOT TABS AFTER THEIR URL CHANGE IS VERY AMAZING.
- (2022-09-27) Tien Huynh: Awesome addon. Make my life much more organized.
- (2022-09-26) Prarie Blake: I've been wanting something that does this well for a while and have tried a few others with similar function... this is by far the best I've tried so far!
- (2022-08-16) Ni Ki: It works very well and I think the rules make it very flexible. The only problem I have for my workflow is that redirection to other pages are not accounted for. For example, I have a group of tabs in the SO group, but then one of this tabs becomes groupless, i.e the stackoverflow tab links to xyz.com which is not inside a group. The tab with xyz.com stays inside the SO group. If this would be fixed by removing this tab from the SO, it would be 5 stars for sure.
- (2022-07-30) Joseph Munno: Doesn't appear to fully work in Vivaldi or Chromium on a Linux Mint install. Created rules don't work. The rules never appear to be applied. Something may have changed in the chromium base code cause it seems a number of folks are complaining that grouping isn't working properly - and it is also affecting some competing extension like Acid Tabs and Tabs Groups Extension.
- (2022-07-08) Fernando Albuquerque Silva: Objective and efficient, great job !!!
- (2022-07-07) Glenn Grant: For anyone who's wondering if this extension is open source, and where to find the source code, you can get it on GitHub at https://github.com/loilo/auto-group-tabs and it's licensed under the MIT License. @Florian: It might be cool if you updated the extension overview to include a link to the repo to make this more discoverable for people.
- (2022-03-11) Josh Wilson: So handy! I would find it annoying using chrome without this now!
- (2022-03-08) Vincent van Wijk: can't imagine a browser without this anymore!
- (2022-02-24) Nick Burke-Gaffney: Chrome's Tab Group feature is nice but the fact that it's not automatic makes the whole act of organizing tabs significantly more tedious than just leaving them ungrouped. This extension unlocks the true potential of tab groups and makes them work like they should have when they were introduced. While I love the extension and it deserves 5/5 stars, there is some room for improvement: UI isn't quite as intuitive/slick as it could be. As a developer myself it was no problem, but trying to get my mom to find the options menu, let alone to understand wildcard characters in URL's was too difficult for her to be sold (and she could REALLY use this extension).
- (2022-01-21) Forrest Elliott: Exactly what I was looking for! So simple and works just as I hoped. Thank you!!
- (2021-09-23) Kevin M: Ist eigentlich genau was ich gesucht habe aber leider gruppiert sich bei mir nix.
- (2021-08-25) Lee Li: Very useful plugin! Exactly what I need! thanks!
- (2021-07-13) Mars: Does what it's intended. No bug as of yet. Useful app !
- (2021-06-23) Zhenxing Han: Exactly what I need and I've been searching for it many times in the past!
- (2021-05-16) Piotr Skrzeczkowski: Great extension, I was waiting long for something that works exactly like this, but... There is problem with it that I really want to be fixed. - When I'm on a site A, and change URL to site B (manually or link), tab remains in group A. Every time URL changes, tab should be checked and moved to different group if needed. I search a lot in Google and is really inconvenient when i need to move tabs manually between groups. I also have two small suggestions, not important but nice to have: - Option to reorder groups in options. Right now groups are ordered alphabetically, and I had to add special characters to group names to change it. I have special group for non-matched sites and it needs to be last in order to work. ( https://prnt.sc/12zzza8 ) - Option to automatically maintain order of groups on tab bar. When new group is created, it would be nice if that group was moved to match the same order as in options. Anyway, like I said extension is great, good work. Also it would be beyond perfect if problem I mentioned could be fixed. :]
- (2021-04-11) Lucas Abido Figueiro: Thanks! Very good extension, very creative and works as expected without any issues. If you don't mind, I would like to suggest a couple of features: 1) Option to group existing tabs by clicking the extension icon 2) A keyboard shortcut that does the same as 1(group existing tabs) that we can customize in chrome://extensions/shortcuts 3) Group tabs that do not match any pattern in a "Others" or "Ungrouped tabs". I tried setting *.* as pattern, but it is not accepted.
- (2021-04-06) Jaun Mauro Fernandez: Very good and needed, it autosync the groups created between PCs/browser sessions, I will love a tab discard functionality incorporated to it. Thanks!
