Bookmark Bar Switcher
Making bookmark management actually sane

Description
Ever felt frustrated when your bookmark bar is cluttered with links from different projects? I created this extension because I was tired of constantly reorganizing my bookmarks when switching between work tasks.

Bookmark Bar Switcher lets you create and switch between different sets of bookmarks with a click. Think of it like having multiple browser profiles without the hassle - just the bookmarks change.

What it does:
- Save different bookmark bar layouts for different contexts (work projects, clients, personal stuff)
- Switch your entire bookmark bar instantly to match what you're working on right now
- Find your saved sets quickly with a search that works as you type
- Create new bookmark sets on the fly

Who it's for:
- If you're a developer juggling multiple projects, each with their own docs, repos, and tools - this is for you.
- If you're an office worker who needs different resources for different clients or tasks - this will make your day easier.

Basically, if you've ever thought "I wish I could have different bookmark bars for different parts of my life" - that's exactly what this solves.

How it works:
The extension creates and manages bookmark sets in your "Other Bookmarks" folder. When you switch sets, it swaps out your current bookmarks with the ones from your chosen set. Nothing complicated, just a smart way to organize what you already use.

No need to manually reorganize your bookmark bar ever again. No more hunting through nested folders to find that one link you need.

This is the bookmark manager and features I always wanted but couldn't find - so I built it. I hope it makes your work life a little bit easier too.

This seems to be a fair replacement for the presently obsolete "Bookmarks Bar Switcher" extension. Watch out on your initial conditions when using this extension. The "Add New Bookmark Set" button makes a fresh folder for a new set of bookmarks, and as far as I can tell it deletes whatever was in the bookmark bar at that time, assuming perhaps that it is already persisted as a bookmark set. I had made a backup of my bookmarks before installing and experimenting, so this was not a big deal for me. The only way to delete a bookmark set as far as I can tell is to manually do so via the browser's bookmarks manager. Go to the "Other bookmarks" folder to do so. You can also manually set up additional bookmark sets this way, just manually make folders there. I am unable to see offhand how the Most Recently Used bookmark sets are managed. You can see that MRU behavior is in play when you click on the extensions icon, that the bookmark sets most recently selected are there at the top of the list, and any sets that you set up manually will be below in the order that that are in the "Other bookmarks" folder. I have such bookmark sets in play because I migrated from a similar but now obsolete extension, "Bookmarks Bar Switcher". It would be nice to have the MRU set delineated by a line and limited to a user configurable number, and at the same time to have the entire set of bookmark sets appear below that line, in the order in which they appear in the "Other bookmarks" folder. That way you get some MRU functionality while also maintaining control full over the sort order of the entire set of bookmark sets.
