- Full control your own encryption key;
- Access revocation that actually works;
- Regularly audited by independent auditors.
Made in Europe.
Privacy by default:
- Host it in our cloud, located in Europe;
- Or self-host it for full data ownership;

- (2023-03-16) Well, passbolt is a fantastic tool for groups who need to share and store passwords in a secure way. I would say it is ideal for SMBs, providing password sharing, user management, and two-factor authentication to make things easy for everyone involved. Passbolt is a good choice if you are looking for an open-source, self-hosted password manager that puts safety first, and there are not that many companies.

- (2021-08-16) Jean-Christophe Vassort: The best!
- (2021-02-10) Simon Blandford: The only password manager I trust as it uses a tried-and-tested encryption (GPG keyrings) solution that doesn't store any passwords in a way that could be decrypted if the server was compromised.
- (2021-02-03) Cordeos Business: Passbolt server is great and worked extremely well for a while as one of the best ON PREMISE, fully auditable local password database team web applications. Unfortunately the newly released (FORCED) browser extension moves all web application files into the compiled extension which is PLAGUED with problems, issues and drawbacks. Not least of which means your are now 100% at the mercy of the extension developers and the Google Chrome webstore. Goodbye PASSBOLT. It was great while it lasted.
- (2021-01-28) Антон Калужин: Doesn't work after the update. When you try to share your password, the browser freezes. The error appears in the Developer Tools in Chrome: stack: "Entityvalidationerrors: Could not validate entity G...mhafipceonhjepacocaffmoppf/index. min. js:23939:17)", message: "Could not validate entity GroupUser.", name: "EntityValidationError",

- (2019-05-17) Ant: Totally useless, it does not work at all. Great waste of time. It always pops this error: 'There was an error during authentication. Enable debug mode for more information'

- (2018-03-28) Beshoy Girgis: I like what passbolt stands for but I've run into issues using on multiple devices. My Chrome extension was auto disabled because it now requires permission to manage downloads -- why?
- (2018-02-20) Arthur Jenson: The Chrome/Chromium version does not work with our passbolt instance. It logs in (as I get a different message when I use the wrong password) thinks about it then returns to the login screen meaning I am unable to use it at all. The Firefox version works fine which leads me to believe the issue is with the chrome extension and not the server.
