Description from store Keep display or system awake for a given duration. It overrides temporarily the system power-saving settings. Simple chrome packaged app allowing the user to prevent screen to turn off or system from going to sleep. It allows overriding system power-saving settings for a given duration (from 10 mn to infinite). When the app is closed, system power-saving settings are restored. To note that it might not work yet on all system (dependant on chrome.power API implementation) but it has been tested successfully on a Mac, PC, linux and chromebook. Technically this is a chrome packaged app that uses Dart/Polymer/Material design. The applications uses the chrome.power API (requestKeepAwake). How the system settings are modified to prevent sleep for either display or system is implemented by Chrome for the various platforms its support (Windows, Mac, Linux). The application itself is not aware of the implementation delails and restores the previous system status (releaseKeepAwake) when stopped (and on exit)

  • (2018-01-20) Christopher Rico: This app was fantastic, worked great and did everything I wanted until it mysteriously stopped working a few weeks ago. All I can see now is the time selection drop-down, and nothing else. Please fix it!
  • (2018-01-15) KD Singh: Loved this app. But it doesn't work anymore. Trying to contact the developer to see if they plan to fix it.
  • (2018-01-04) Vladimir Sutinovski: Awesome app, 5 stars for the app itself, but disappointingly stopped working December 2017. I reinstalled the app, reinstalled chrome but all i see is a drop down menu for the time select and nothing else. All other buttons are missing from the frame. Sad face...
  • (2017-11-11) Paul Petonak: Remarkable, software for this abominable operating system that does what it is supposed to.
  • (2017-08-02) Glyn Hudson: Worked great until i updated to ChromeOS 61 ( 61.0.3163.13). Now it does not work at all :-(
  • (2017-02-14) Vonda Hartsock-Oneil: This app WORKS. Those saying it doesn't work on their CB, I suspect are NOT ENABLING it. Lack of instructions is the problem. However it's not difficult to figure out. When you boot up, the app pops up in a window. Choose your length of time you want the DISPLAY to stay awake. I always choose FOREVER. Then CLICK the round BLUE icon w/ the refresh arrow. THIS ENABLES THE APP. You will notice the icon below will go from a non-colored x, to a YELLOW X, and a popup will say "Your Display will be kept awake forever (or whatever length of time you chose) THEN do NOT CLOSE the window, minimize it only. Repeat for "System" You will have to do this every time you boot your CB up. Hope this helps SOMEONE, because I've had this app since it came out and use it on 2 older CB's. The C 710 and C 720. Side note : I too thought it didn't work properly at first. I was just using it INCORRECTLY as well. After this, if it still doesn't work for you...it's something on your end, not the apps. I am no way affiliated with this app either! :D

  • (2015-02-02) Sharon Ortiz: Didn't work on my Chromebook
  • (2014-11-15) Oscar Brito: Well done! I would really like some "Keep on" profiles, so that I can easily activate them without using the slider.
  • (2014-11-12) Ellen Lambert: I agree with the first reviewer from 10/10/2014 - this is by far the most usable "keep awake" app in the Chrome Web Store, however, I think there *is* a bug in that separate settings aren't kept for screen and system awake duration. (I'm running on an HP Chromebook 14, for whatever that's worth.) I can still use this to keep the system "active," so that when I play extensive playlists out of Google Play Music. If the bug above (if it is a bug) can be fixed, and I think you have a 5-star packaged app here!
  • (2014-10-07) Ola Olsson: Very good, nice and tidy. Works very well.
