I told the author of extension Fast Bookmark to update some a bug, but he had no any response.
So I cloned and refactored it.
Include such new features:
- hotkey to change the base dir when use the Create New Folder feature
- automatically adjust bookmark folder order by moving new to most front position
- sync data by using Chrome Storage api

- It's good and I'm grateful after losing Faster Bookmark but please we really don't need the pathway and could you get it to focus automatically? I've tried to mitigate the untidiness and I can't :( EDIT. OK Still slow and clunky. I'll come back later, for now I have found a better one

- Think it's ok, not sure yet, will revisit. OK not as neat as my old one but that was banned. This one works however I have to click for focus on the search box.
