Image from store FeedPal: Turn Your Browser Into an RSS Reader
Description from store If you've ever bookmarked articles from a blog, you'll likely want to stay updated with its new posts. FeedPal works out of the box with zero configuration, effortlessly turning bookmarks into subscriptions—ensuring you never miss valuable content that matters to you. Since high-quality content often updates less frequently, FeedPal intelligently adjusts notifications based on update frequency, minimizing distractions and only alerting you when it truly matters. • How often are RSS feeds fetched? FeedPal automatically adjusts the fetching frequency based on the characteristics of the RSS feed (such as update frequency, etc.), ranging from 1 hour to 45 days. • How to add a specific RSS feed? Create a new folder in your bookmarks with a name containing [sources] (note that the square brackets are included), then add the RSS feed (URL of the XML) to this folder. FeedPal will automatically fetch the RSS feeds within this folder. • What should I do if the website indicates no RSS feed was found? FeedPal will attempt to parse the RSS feed from the website's homepage. If it fails to parse, you can also try manually adding it by following the steps above. • Is my data safe? FeedPal uses the browser's local storage feature, so all data is saved on your computer and will not be uploaded to any server. This includes the fetching process, which is also performed solely on your computer. ------ FeedPal is in its early iteration phase. We’ll continue to enhance features and optimize the user experience. Any questions or suggestions are welcome—feel free to submit feedback.

  • (2025-02-18) Jonathan Davidson: Really good! I'd give it a 4.5/5 if I can cause of some features it lacks. It's got that ease of use for someone who really doesn't want to bother with how complicated RSS setups can be because sites are trying to shy away from giving you RSS despite it being the backbone of our internet even now. It quite literally just works; too well imo! It pulled every single RSS from my bookmarks and managed to grab most available RSS feeds, even the old bookmarks I had hidden from my bookmarks bar. There are some websites I've noticed the RSS feed doesn't work on, a lot of webcomics don't seem to work like the prequel. But generally, for news bookmarks, I have noticed it works without flaws. For such ease of access, comes some things I notice lacking. More specifically it doesn't embed content onto the abstract, it would be nice you can click the description for it to fold out and display all contents of it + any embedded media which it featured. It also lacks a way to tell if you've read a page, so its hard to judge if I've gotten a new article or not to read through when the RSS titles their stuff terribly. The one thing I really would like would be to only pull from a specific folder in your bookmarks rather than every single bookmark you have on your browser. Overall though, for how simple it is, just a one click install to give you an RSS feed experience, this is amazing and I will be suggesting this to people who cannot be bothered setting up RSS, they can just bookmark the sites they like and can get instant updates by clicking on the extension. It's really intuitive and easier to implement than a typical browser's built in RSS reader. Cheers!
