Create documents from templates directly from the Google Drive Create menu.
You can use the Google Drive Template Gallery to create your document, spreadsheet, presentation, or form. Whether you need a resume and cover letter, an invoice, a birthday card, or any of a wide variety of templates, our gallery can help you get your doc started.
After connecting this app to Google Drive you will be able to access the Google Apps Template Gallery directly from the "Create" menu inside Google Drive.
This basically adds the former "From template..." link back to the Google Drive Create menu.
IF YOU ARE ON A GOOGLE APPS DOMAIN and this is not working:
Your Google Apps Administrator might have disabled Google Drive Apps. Contact him and ask him to enable:
Settings > Drive and Docs > Allow users to install Google Drive apps
Don't complain in the comments if the app doesn't appear in the create menu :)

Authorization and confidentiality notes: The application needs access to your Google Account User's Information because it needs to know if you are a Google Apps domain user or a regular Google account user. This is needed in order to redirect you to the correct URL for the Google Docs Template Gallery. This is why you need to authorize the application on its first use for "View your email address" and "Know who you are on Google". This also potentially gives access to your email address but the application does not read, save or use your email address or identity in any way.

- It worked fine with me. Adding this app to my Drive resulted in a Template Gallery item appearing in the list invoked when activating "New" (ie., Create drive item) icon which is the colour '+' (plus) sign at the top of left frame at https://drive.google.com/drive/my-drive. When the Template Gallery list item was selected I was taken to a page with categorized templates for document, spreadsheet, presentation, or form and was able to use that template to create, update, and save within Drive.

- Doesn't do anything at all-- clicking on the app links you only to the google docs/drive default templates, so connecting is a complete waste of time. Online troubleshooting information offers zero solutions. Bad app.

- I believed it to be more templates for google docs and other google products but I find it is just the library of templates that was already there and I already had access to before installing this app. All it does is redirect me to the google docs template library.I do not know whether or not this is supposed to happen but it was not what I was expecting.
