Description from extension meta

Simple Slack app for Chrome I created because I hate having it open in another tab :)

Description from store This is in NO WAY affiliated with Slack, just an app I wanted for personal use and figured I'd put it in the store in case others felt the same. • (2018-08-04) Aaron de Bruyn: Very helpful. Beats having Slack open in one of 100 tabs and trying to locate it. A must-have app if you use Slack! Multiple teams no longer works for me, and there is a bug that prevents desktop notifications from being enabled.
  • (2017-07-21) Han Li: Nice little wrapper on web slack. So far so good. The native Electron app is really not resource friendly, especially on battery usage. Thanks for sharing.
  • (2017-06-23) Christopher Sullivan: Awesome on linux - the Slack application wasn't working and is a behemoth in resource usage. Slacky is sleeker, better looking, and best of all It Just Works.
  • (2016-10-17) Geraint Ballinger: Great app, but I would really appreciate support for multiple teams.
  • (2016-08-19) Shahin Eliyev: ok
  • (2016-05-05) Dario Brignone: This is a very useful app, thank you. I noticed just a little issue: when I get a notification, clicking on its balloon doesn't open/focus the app window. It would be pretty useful. Thank you again
  • (2016-03-31) Thomas: I just wish it was able to use half of the screen as opposed to three quarters on my Chromebook.
  • (2016-03-28) Oleksandr Sheremet: This one is more convenient than a slack tab in a browser (I always lose it), and a standalone client (memory hog).
  • (2016-03-10) Austin Voecks: I love this app but I despise that you can't shrink the window to half screen!
  • (2016-03-06) Misbahul Ardani: Nice work broh!
  • (2016-02-17) João Carvalho: Awesome!
  • (2016-01-27) Tamer Ismail: Great one
  • (2016-01-20) Vivian Michelle Daly: THANK YOU!
  • (2016-01-13) Adrian Black: Pretty great! I really wish I could resize the window smaller and use text zoom. I have a monitor of 1080 pixels wide and I can't make the window narrow enough to fit on it. If I snap the window to the top, it does resize to 1080 wide and also works perfectly. (Windows 10.) Thanks though! The official slack "App" is such a huge joke.
  • (2016-01-12) Andrew Boles (Drew): Seems to be some formatting issues now. Part of the right and lower sides are missing but are view-able when using the website or official desktop app. A snappy fix would bring it back to 5 stars!
  • (2015-12-07) Mike Smith: Awesome app I had the same issue with slack being lost in tabs so this works alot nicer
  • (2015-09-10) Minh-Chau Le: Like it a lot but isn't it resizable?
  • (2015-05-24) Justin Carr: Thanks man.
  • (2015-05-20) Col Umbia: Causes Chrome to go 'Aw Snap' when clicking on links that load in browser.
  • (2015-04-03) Ryan Jentzsch: To repeat Andy Grove: What the official slack app should have been instead of a stupid bookmark. Thank you!!
  • (2015-03-20) Mike Hill: Well done! I've been using this for about a month and it is great to have!
  • (2015-03-18) Nick Lenzi: Andy Grove said it best... This is what the official slack app should have been, instead of a bookmark.
  • (2015-03-16) Michal Garshtein: Cool app, thanks for writing it! Keeps me from losing the Slack tabs on chrome. One thing I'm missing is a notification indication... Something like a "1" sign on the app to tell me I got a message. Other than that- really nice! Thanks again
  • (2015-03-01) Alex Bass: You can get the same experience for the most part for any site/web app by going to "settings" > "More Tools" > "Create Application Shortcuts..." > Pin to Taskbar The only real upside of downloading this app seems to be that the icon it uses looks a bit nicer than going the application shortcut route. Wish I could make this app run in the background because sometimes I accidentally close it and then don't get any notifications. But I know that's a limitation of just creating a webview wrapper for a web app.
  • (2015-02-26) Mark van der Waarde: Perfect!
  • (2015-02-18) Jim Horner: Brilliant
  • (2015-02-06) Luis Arturo Mendoza: Thanks !
  • (2015-01-16) Mingzhang Yang: It works flawlessly.
  • (2015-01-13) Sergio Rodríguez Inclán: Very nice! Just would be great that switching between teams did not take to much time.
  • (2015-01-09) Randy A: I love this - one issue I have is that it asks me to enable desktop permissions EVERY single time I open slacky(even though I enable it everytime AND have it enabled in the main app). Just a suggestion to look into. Thanks for making this. We would not be able to use slack like we do if it wasn't for this.
  • (2014-12-16) Lisa Bos: Would have given a 5 except for the issue with links to features that open in new browser windows. Any chance of fixing? I know we'll get a Windows app from Slack at some point, but meanwhile Slacky is doing the job very well and would love my links to Skype and links to edit posts to work.
  • (2014-11-07) David Simon: Yay, no more losing tabs on my slack desktop!
  • (2014-10-14) Dan Rovito: Loving this app. Just downloaded it and was up and running. So much more convenient than having it in a tab.
  • (2014-09-24) Brent Hollett: I've had a brief go of Slacky, and its exactly what I'd want to use, except for one slight flaw. Whenever links in Slacky appear, and I click on them, they open in a new standalone window, instead of in the normal Chrome browser. This means that a) I get a window with no address bar, no bookmarks, no tabs etc, for every link I click on. b) None of the usual sessions are logged in etc, so I'd have to log each of them in again to use it. Can you fix this so that any links in Slacky are opened using the default browser, not its own window>?
  • (2014-09-08) Matan Heimann: Does what it says on the tin. After crawling the code and finding no malicious listeners, I very much appreciate the effort. Thank you!
