This extension will make ChatGPT your default search engine in Chrome. Once ChatGPT has been set as your default search engine, you can search directly via your browser URL bar.
ChatGPT You can get fast, timely answers with links to relevant web sources, which you would have previously needed to go to a search engine for. This blends the benefits of a natural language interface with the value of up-to-date sports scores, news, stock quotes, and more. Chats also now include links to sources, such as news articles and blog posts, giving you a way to learn more.
In order to redirect a query to Google search, type "!g [your query]" (e.g. !g foobar) directly in your browser URL bar.

- The search results themselves are excellent as long as you only look for topics that aren’t caught by the filters. But the moment it gets into anything natural, human, or adult-related, the system just blocks it entirely instead of letting the user decide. This makes it feel less like a true search engine and more like a heavily restricted demo. To me? Not usable unless I switch based on the search I want to make. I don't want to risk being flagged in my own ChatGPT account for adult websearches!

- Difficulties in using it in Vivaldi Browser. Cannot set it as default search engine, and does not allow to edit the shortcut in order to call it more easily (ie: "gpt" instead of "chatgpt.com" followed by query) in the case it is not the default search

- I asked ChatGPT about this, and it helped me summarize my request as follows: Currently, switching the default search engine in ChatGPT Search requires opening the extension menu and manually selecting the engine each time, which is quite inconvenient. I would really appreciate having an option to toggle or switch the search engine with a single click, or by using a keyboard shortcut. This improvement would greatly enhance usability for many users who frequently switch between search engines. Thank you for considering this suggestion.

- Installed and uninstalled immediately. Just read the negative reviews! It clutters your ChatGPT conversations with every search as new conversation, replaces everything you are used to and gives only standard ChatGPT that you can access directly. This add-on doesn't offer anything. It only collects all your personal data that it didn't have access to directly.
