You can read a QR code from an entire screen, window, or Chrome tab to open a web page.
It is as simple as clicking the extension icon and selecting the window, etc. that contains the QR code.

- The only extension that actually read the on screen QR. The others with better review forced you to saved the QR code as an image and upload to the app. This is much better and it didn't ask for any weird permission (another QR reader app asked for your browser history - WTH?)

- zoom in on the QR code in browser/file before using the extension. If the QR code is big enough, it works great
