Description from store
Fable now has a Chrome Browser Extension that will easily allow you to add books to your lists. This feature can be helpful to add books that may be missing in the Fable catalog or to add books to your Fable reading lists.
Note: The Chrome Extension is still in beta. Currently this feature works on individual book pages that include an ISBN or ASIN.
To use the browser extension
1. In your browser go to https://fable.co
2. Login to your Fable account
3. Visit a book page of a book you wish to add to your list.
4. Once you are on a book page click on the Fable extension
5. This should bring up a window on the right side
6. Select the book you want to add
7. Click Add to List
8. Select the list you want to add it to
9. Click Submit
10. Now if you go to your list in your Fable app you should see this book added to your list.

- (2025-05-24) Rita C: Doesn't work. I'm signed in in another tab, and when I click on "Sign In" from the extension, it throws a 500 error.
- (2025-05-08) Jaeden Beshoner: Really glad I found a review below that showed me how to use it because I was completely lost with the absolute lack of instructions from Fable. I copied and pasted the instructions below (doing the same thing on Amazon works too, sometimes Goodreads doesn't have the ISBN number and Fable wont recognize it) So, for anyone looking for instructions on how to add a book, here’s the process: 1. First, go to the Goodreads page of the book you want to add to Fable. 2. Then, open the Fable extension. The extension will scan the Goodreads page and pull all the necessary book details. 3. Provided that you are already logged into your Fable account, you'll now be able to select the scanned book in the extension and add it to one of your Fable lists, such as "Currently Reading," "Want to Read," or any custom list you've created.
- (2025-04-17) Anthony Johnson: I like the extension but, as others have said, I was only able to use it because of a previous reviewers instructions. Thanks Andjela!
- (2025-04-08) Monique Edwards: Thanks to Andjela for the detailed instructions. I would've been completely lost as no instructions were given. I'm giving it 2 stars because no instructions were given outside of downloading the chrome extension and I had to search the reviews just to get instructions on how to add the book.
- (2025-04-06) Allison Lubonski: Just used this for the first time. There aren't any instructions however someone provided them in the reviews which was awesome. Only thing I noticed is that a book I added via the extension did not port over none of the details of the book and has the incorrect publishing year.
- (2025-03-24) Lucas Carlberg: Cool tool! But it would be better if it could be used on kobos website and also if it was added to firefox
- (2025-03-14) Mimi N: It doesn't work correctly on sites like Amazon jp.
- (2025-03-13) Andjela A: The extension is fast and easy to use, but only after figuring out how to navigate it, as there are no instructions provided on how to use it. I installed it to add a book that wasn't listed on Fable yet, and I spent quite some time looking at the empty interface before realizing the trick and understanding why I couldn’t add the book I wanted. So, for anyone looking for instructions on how to add a book, here’s the process: 1. I hope this helps!
