Note Sidebar

The whole idea of this extension is neat, but unfortunately it feels buggy. The "Print" icon is invisible until the "Options" page is opened ( but the "Print" option is activated by default ) And the Print feature is totally useless. Nothing happens when clicks on the print icon, which forces me to move the whole note to Google Docs in order to print it.

It could be nicely enhance your work but when you want to copy a word, it could simply ruins what you've done:) no matter did you save them or not. Unfortunately, you cannot recover it.

Very useful as a notepad to jot down quick thoughts. Would've like it to be page specific, so the note you take on one page will show something different on another (almost like ghostnote 2 on macos), but it does a quick good job regardless.

Generally speaking, it's good, but the "New! Discover all my FREE browser extensions" popup is really annoying, it exists on other extensions from same author like https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/page-sidebar-open-any-pag/gkkebamcfeaggmcfciekfakbmlgckdnh too.

Perfect. In the last 20 years, I think I have tried just about every alternative, but I shall stick with this and recommend it. It is particularly useful for making temporary notes about things to do next or "in a moment". Or things you will later move to your proper "Do" list, such as Todoist or Google Tasks. The only weak point is the video "explanation". It is better to just download it and try it out. You'll figure it out.

I really want to like this extension. A sidebar to take notes in my browser is exactly what I need. But I'm running into issues with text disappearing. I made a bunch of notes on stuff I needed to follow up on today while I was working yesterday. Throughout the day. Next day when I started up my PC and opened Chrome they were all gone. I had a second tab just now, closed the side bar, when I opened it the second tab was gone. Made a test note and switched back and forth a few times and closed it and it seemed to stay, but when I pasted in the table I actually needed in that note and switched to the main tab, by the time I switched back everything in the second tab was just the test note. It's frustrating to say the least.

Like other users, I also lost a lot of work, about a day of notes from a conference when the note sidebar extension suddenly crashed (the extension just crashed, not the page) - it deleted everything apart from the first aroun 8000 characters that were apparently saved. Absolutely devastating, DO NOT USE THIS.

I wish I could leave negative stars as this extension resulted in a massive net loss. 7 hours of research for a project was deleted when I opened a new tab. I am in so much disbelief I can't even react with anger. This was critical information and time for an opportunity I can't get back and massive sacrifices where made towards this project.

I really like this extension... until I made a horrible mistake today. I took a bunch of personal notes in it and highlighted it instead of using the copy past button and I pressed the wrong key on my Chromebook... everything was deleted and then I found out since I had just created it... there is no way to get it back.... UGHHHHH I still love this extension and will continue to use it, but can we please add an undo button... I wanna cry right now

It would be great if the note was linked to the domain and opened automatically when the domain was opened. The link can be made by the tab name

It actually works like a normal notepad. Instead of all the fakes I found in the "Chrome web store".

Simple and perfect. Doesnt need any permissions to run. Check out the options to add multiple notes and have more controls.

The best I was able to find

A very useful tool that can store some frequently used information or be used as a temporary clipboard. A serious bug is that except for the first page, other created notes will not be saved and will disappear every time it is closed.(even i made the save button visible and saved it manually) I hope it can be improved.

This is perfect for my work, but it has stopped saving notes after 62 notes. I am stuck at note 63 not being saved, whenever I make a note, it starts as note 63, and it is not saving.

I was assuming/hoping this would provide a page- or site-specific context for individual notes. Even better if it would automatically open the sidebar when visiting the page in the future. One global note isn't useful for my needs.

Hi Stefan, Thank you for the extension! I used to have "Eloquent" for side note-taking but as it seems that Google has changed its policies for extensions and now many extensions have the label "This extension may soon no longer be supported ..." and "Eloquent" was one of them, so that I was in search of an alternative and came across to your extension. I would like to ask if you are eager to implement Markdown support (specifically node or list form) for the extension that we can copy the notes directly to apps like Logseq (which I extensively use), Obsidian, etc.

First of all, cool extension, very useful, thank you! I have a suggestion regarding "Copy text to the sidebar" in the context menu. Could you please add a shortcut to this? It would be very helpful to quickly add more info to the sidebar, without moving the mouse. Appreciate you work!

Seems great! I've used it with Chrome and it seems great, but while working with Arc it's not really working unfortunately, there's any resolution we can find for that? Can be really helpful. Thanks! Omri.

This is exactly what I was looking for. A side panel notes section that will stay open on all tabs and it won't close if I close the tab I'm on. A super bonus-- I can paste anything into the notepad and there is a read-aloud option. It's a simple extension but so effective for productivity.

Does not always save notes, I lost a lot of important things, you can stop auto save if it's updating like this and add manually save button at least!

Very Crisp App

It's a very neat way to compromise without disrupting Chrome's browsing style. However, I wish I could sync this note to a cloud service like Google Drive in real time, so I could access it on my mobile device as well. Thank you for your hard work.

with the latest update, I click to open this app and my web browser closes completely...... I had a lot of important notes, now I can't access them and there is a possibility that they may have been deleted..... It really sucks.

I really like this Note Sidebar extension, really easy to use and looks simple but elegant. But I hope the developer can make some improvement on multiple notes management feature. May be you can refer to Vivaldi sidebar notes for inspiration to improve.

Great extension, it should be already installed as a standard in browsers. Free, simple and complete, with smart options and no frills. Great job! I hope the developer won't close the project for too few donations.

A limited option for real needs, I wish he'd add basic text editing features - colors, bolding, etc.

Easy to use. But I have problems with lag, turning the app on and off very slowly and sometimes automatically backing up previous content without saving new content.

This is a brilliant extension that does exactly what it promises. I am also very impressed with the level of support provided by the developer. I had a problem where the sidebar appeared on the left rather than the right which was uncomfortable for me. I asked Stefan about this and he pointed me to a Chrome setting that I didn't even know existed, This was within an hour and on a Saturday morning. Thank you for that Stefan. I intend to look at the rest of your work and see if there is anything else I can make use of. Keep up the good work.
