• (2025-07-01) Rafiq Ibayev: I think there's a bug that removes channels' profile pics even though I didn't activate that toggle. It does it even though I turn off the extension (from its own menu). The only way to make profile pics appear is disabling the extension from chrome's extensions menu.

By hiding the home page, related videos, it makes using youtube so much more intentional. I love it. Even the tool settings pop up is designed so well with categories, allowing us to explore the addon and change things easily. Hopefully it is maintained well, I would definitely buy this, if it is.

• (2025-06-18) Keegan Mackey: Awesome and perfect and very customizable, helped me quickly overcome my YouTube addiction. They had an outage or something weird recently, but it's the only time I've noticed it during my several months of using it. Highly recommend.
• (2025-06-16) Kevin Rooney: Heard great things and was excited to check it out. Installed it, turned on "Summary" and went to a video. Clicked on the new summary link and was prompted to sign up. Did so. Was sent a confirmation email. Entered the code. Got a "Something went wrong. Try again." message. Clicked "Try again" multiple times and it just reloaded the same message (did not even get a "send again" option). Deleted extension. Complete waste of time and now they have my email address.
• (2025-06-12) ImprovedTube for YouTube: Hi guys, an impressive amount of work!! ...If you are a (social-)business, with a budget and not the programmer, then you might think "This could be okay on the long-term". If you have not served / retained many users before, it might simply seems meaningful or exciting without a sustainable plan. But if you are the developer, you will/should feel pain from thinking of the other developers in the world doing this same 'too patient'-/sisyphus-task (relatively high maintenance) for no particular reason, which is certainly underpaying most of us few and mostly abandon-ware* - so this is: "Merge or Quit" - Let us know, thanks! *(Making developers run sooner than they thought. in very few cases ensuring maintenance to the users and a permanent (minimum-)salary to the developers, at the cost of reducing installations to just a few (when paid). (+Our GitHub To-Do lists must have been impacting your developer's life and i feel guilty for that too)

This extension does make yt pages load slower which I think has been improved a little bit in the latest update. Overall this extension has lot of potential & lot of bugs too... for e.g. the Shorts Page & Embed Videos section where some of the toggles don't work. Also devs please be updated with the latest UI changes in the yt web app, that's the last thing I want to say.

For those of us who still want to enjoy content from a handful of good creators without getting sucked into a dopamine vortex, the extension is a must. Not to get too deep, but this extension is more than just useful, it's important. In an age that we are constantly being fed algorithmic sludge, tools like this keep me just a little more sane than I would be without.
