Kiosk Extension

Add advanced browser controls for Chrome kiosk mode and Edge kiosk mode, designed to enhance the experience of touchscreen kiosks launched with the --kiosk flag.
Whether you're managing a public terminal, self-service station, or retail display, this extension offers a comprehensive set of features to improve usability, enforce security, and simplify administration.

Feature Highlights

On-screen navigation
Back, Forward, Up, Home and Refresh buttons so users can move around without a keyboard or browser chrome. Add a dedicated, customizable Back button with its own label, action, size and position.

Lock it down
Restrict browsing to an approved Allow list (or block specific sites with a Deny list). Blocked navigation returns the kiosk to your Homepage. Password-protect the options page and lock kiosk keys so end users can't change a thing.

Rotating signage
Cycle through a list of URLs on a timer with optional transitions - or only rotate when the kiosk is idle. Turn any screen into digital signage.

QR code of the page
Show a QR code of the current page so visitors can carry the link away on their phone. Style it with your own logo or favicon.

Custom extra buttons
Add your own buttons that open URLs or run actions - shortcuts to the pages your kiosk uses most.

Time & date overlay
Display a live clock and date on screen, with control over format, position and appearance.

Idle refresh & custom CSS
Return to the Homepage after a set idle time, and inject custom CSS to tailor how pages look on the kiosk.

Deploy at scale
Save once and your configuration follows any device signed into the same Chrome profile via Chrome sync.

Managing more than a handful of devices? An administrator can push settings to every enrolled device from the Google Admin Console using managed policy - the extension ships a full policy schema schema.json. Settings your administrator locks show a "Managed by administrator" indicator and can't be changed locally.

Back button appears automatically on PDF/media URLs
