David Neilsen 2018-12-11: As most everyone else here can attest, it doesn't record for longer periods, like an interview or lecture. It ought to warn you of this up front. Once it crashes, the data is lost forever.
Beatrice Vincent 2018-09-16: If you try to record a file more than a couple of minutes long it indicates that it is recording but then as soon as you try to save the file it crashes. Just wasted half an hour of my life on two takes of something that should have been incredibly simple to record.

Rocky 2018-05-14: It was great for many months, but recently it stopped allowing me to save files. I press the mic and it indicates that it is recording. When I stop recording, I don't get the prompt which indicates that it downloaded to my computer. I tried uninstalling then reinstalling the app, and that didn't get rid of the problem. It used to save my recordings, then one day for no reason it just stopped working.

Bill M 2016-01-30: If you're looking for an ULTRA-simple app to just record very basic audio recordings in a single take, then get this. Two buttons: one to start a brand new recording (click a second time to end the current recording), and one button to export the result as a .wav file. Record and save. Since AudioRecorder is just a simple capturing app and not a sound editor, this is NOT the sort of app you should be using to record something fairly long or more complicated, like an interview, a podcast episode, a full music recording, or something else that would typically need any editing, pausing, etc. Again, this is an ultra-simple app designed for ultra-simple audio recording. I use it as a musician to capture simple song ideas I come up with, or verbal notes in general.
Alex Marlette 2016-01-29: It crashed after recording 20 minutes of an interview and my audio was lost and not replaceable. Find a more reliable web app.
Dave Curry 2016-01-26: I do not need anything complex for what I am trying to accomplish. This app did exactly what it is supposed to. It took a few minutes for my USB mic to load and be recognized, but after that it worked very well.
Zach Linders 2016-01-25: tried using it several times for recording lectures 4/5 times it had crashed during use and was not able to recover the audio. I would suggest looking for a reliable alternative.

Keri Lynn Engel 2016-01-15: DON'T USE IT! DOESN'T WORK!! Didn't record anything, then crashed my Chromebook :/ Tried it again and it worked, once. Then I tried it for a longer recording, and it didn't work. I stopped recording and the download button was greyed out. This is a terrible design. It should just automatically save the recording.
