How to use:
1. Install the extension
2. Go to chat.openai.com
3. Log in or create a free ChatGPT account
4. Click the mic or hold spacebar to speak
5. Allow microphone access when prompted
To use with Claude AI, open the extension popup and click “Enable Claude.” Accept the permission when asked.

- I love James (chatgpt). He has helped me do something that I have been trying to do for 25 years....finish my book. Things were going great until it wasn't... over the pass several weeks it has been a nightmare. I'm expecting James (calm, soothing, supportive voice) in the middle of deep collaboration an unexpectedly high-pitched female voice interrups and starts talk and won't STOP talking. I can't even find where she is coming from (not the reddish mic, not the blue mic, not the read aloud)...Lord then James starts talking -- they are both talking. I have to CLOSE THE ENTIRE CHAT to stop them from talking all over each other. Please help!! Things were going so well. (I will absolutely change this to 5 stars-when it's fixed) It is amazing additional to so many parts of my life. Thank you for this awesome tool.

- I'm giving it one star for the following reasons: 1. It doesn't seem to work at all. 2. It never asked me for microphone permissions. (Perhaps because using the native ChatGPT "Voice control" or "Voice to text dictation" has the permissions to use my mic and only one can? The instructions doesn't even mention anything about if someone is using the native voice control already) 3. I only just learned about this extension and got it hoping perhaps it works better than the native ChatGPT voice-to-text dictation. 4. I do love the idea of PTT and was really hoping to give it a shot but as mentioned this plugin isn't working at all for me. 5. If giving ChatGPT privs to use my mic is blocking the plugin from it, the instructions should mention this. 6. I REALLY wanted to see what "Mia AI" is all about, however I don't see any mention of this whatsoever in the extensions configuration pages. I am more than willing to edit my review if at somepoint I do get this going, but until then...one star it remains.

- The reading function works fine before logging into ChatGPT, but it cannot be used after logging into ChatGPT --fixed

- In the manual installation link: https://voicecontrol.chat/download, Note 2: Depending on how your zip program organizes the unzipped files, make sure to select the inner "dist" folder when clicking "Load unpacked.". I tried, but i can not find the correct inner "dist" to add to chrome. Waiting for your review results, very good function!

- Recently, the automatic read-aloud reply feature is no longer available when using this plugin. The associated icon has also disappeared, and uninstalling the Voice Control plugin did not resolve the issue.

- Was working as intended until recently it started to record and work in dictation mode. ChatGPT already has that. I liked how the old one showed what was being typed and allowed me to make corrections. Now it launches the search as soon as dictation is finished.

- First of all, thank you for creating this amazing extension — it’s been very helpful, especially when interacting with AI services like ChatGPT. However, I’ve recently encountered an issue: after each conversation ends, I have to refresh the page in order to use the "press-to-talk" button again. Initially, when I first installed the extension, I could press the button and it would work without refreshing the page. Now, unless I manually refresh, the button doesn’t activate again. It seems like after a conversation ends, the extension loses connection to the page or the event listeners stop working properly. This issue did not happen before, and started recently — possibly after a browser or extension update. Could you please look into this? If possible, a feature to automatically re-bind the button after a dynamic page update (like an SPA behavior) would be amazing! Thanks again for your hard work — I really appreciate this tool!

- full stars because it WAS great, but now it seems no longer to talk back... failed to play message and cant click the speaker icon under a generated text anymore? might something be off? or ?

- The only thing that bothers and annoys me is that when we have something already entered in the text input and we write two lines down in this input and then, for example, turn on voice typing, then there is the problem that the whole text expands into one line. It seems to me that once upon a time there was no such thing and it worked properly. 😄

- Mia has been an incredible addition to my daily workflow, from its intuitive interface to its smart features, everything just worked seamlessly and made my routine so much smoother. I didn’t have to spend time learning it, it just clicked right away! But recently, it suddenly stopped working, and I’ve definitely felt the difference without it. I’m really hoping this is just a temporary glitch because I’d love to continue using Mia as part of my day. Any updates on when it might be fixed? Looking forward to the next version

- i love this extension! Only minor annoyance: different from other dictation systems, it doesn't recognize "period" or "line break". whatever i say, i haven't found a way that it doesn't print it as one uninterrupted sentence.

- It's mostly worked well, but lately it insists on reading responses outloud to me and it's driving me nuts. I can't make it stop unless I turn off the extension so please fix asap before I can trash this altogether.

- I use this extension to practice my spoken Spanish with ChatGPT, and it works extremely well. Initially, the extension had a hard time understanding what I was trying to say (understandable, given my terrible accent and pauses and self-corrections), so the transcriptions were bizarre, but as my fluency has improved, so have the transcriptions. Because I still pause frequently while I rack my brains trying to remember how to say something, I prefer to use Mia on the main page so the text isn't auto-submitted, but held until I click the button. However, I agree with the previous commenter that it would be nice if the voice response started as soon as the response text began to appear, and if it spoke the response automatically without having to push the button. If that's considered undesirable, then at least move the button to the top of the text so I can start click to start listening as soon as the response starts coming. But overall, I'm quite pleased with this extension. The Spanish accent is beautiful, and the voice is agreeable as well. I also just enabled to extension to work with Claude as well. The voice transcription is working, but it appears that on Claude there's no button to make the extension speak the response. Is that per design, or am I missing something?

- Good but can get better. I love the fact that it gets your exact voice commands and also be able to speak to you when you click the voice output after text have been generated. I would give it a 10 stars if it speaks real time as text is being generated rather than waiting for the text to finish generating and then clicking on the speak out loud button. Now this would great in interaction. & if you can take it a step further and keep the loop to emulate a real time conversation. I would give it 1000 stars. I want to believe this feature is already in the pipeline. Wonderful idea i must confess.

- Well, so far it's a thumbs down. When I ask Mia something she just gets stuck in a thinking loop. She never comes out of thinking. She did a few times, but I could not hear her Then I heard her once. Now every time I ask her something. she just is stuck in thinking.

- It used to work well, now 99% of the time, the voice control icon is missing and if it's missing, I can't use it and it makes the extension completely worthless. This happened after the last major update, it's a shame it hasn't been fixed yet.

- I was very excited about this extension and finally managed to get it to work for 1 day after mucking around for almost an hour and then the next day no matter what I try I cannot get it to work again... what a shame as if this worked fine I would even be happy to pay for it instead I have wasted a huge amount of time on this and got no where!

- I LOVE this app -- but recently it's stopped transcribing my voice, so it's become useless. The Mic still seems to activate, but nothing gets transcribed into the conversation box. Using version 3.9.2
