• (2025-09-01) Keith Ketover: Longtime TTS tinkerer here. After bouncing among Intelligent Speaker, Narro, NaturalReader, Speechify, and more, I’ve landed on Audioread as my daily driver. It nails what matters: modern, natural-sounding voices, real control over settings, and a rock-solid podcast feed I rely on every day. The browser extension just works (no random errors), support is responsive, and the devs are clearly active. It’s not quite a perfect five yet, there are a few small tweaks I’d love to see, but it’s a smart, fairly priced pick, especially if you listen as much as I do.

I am a lifelong learner and this tool makes it so easy to add content (including rss feeds, which I love) and listen to near-human sounding voices in SPOTIFY...not some junky player that isn't the focus of the developers. Audioread makes the great audio, and I listen in my podcast player with the rest of my audio content.

• (2024-04-04) farouq stray: I'm changing my review after I found out that it gives you reading up to 2500 words on every web article you add for free, and automatically selects a voice for you, but it's an ultra-realistic voice indeed, still not going to subscribe to it because the pop-up is a pain, clicking anywhere and it will be gone and you have to open the extension again, no volume control, a big rectangle that you can't hide, Keep in mind that It will require you to enter your credit card info before you even start your free trial .. 10$/Month!! I can't recommend it.

With audioread, I can simply listen to the articles while doing tasks that don't require active listening, like cleaning or driving. It's super helpful and has allowed me to consume more content in a way that fits my busy lifestyle. Highly recommend!

But as soon as I added this extension, payment window came up. I know you are offering a free trial as well but somehow I lost my excitement for sharing my payment details before trying your product. I would be helpful for people if you can give open trial period for at least 7 days to check if that is helpful or not. After that surely people will fall in love with your product and happily buy it.

Note I did not sign up to any subscription or provide any payment details. The email came a month after and it stated I would be charged and to ensure the payment details are correct. The email link provided doesn't lead to anywhere I can edit payment details. And the extension webpage doesn't have an edit account or edit payment details section either.

In Android, I just say to Google "Read this page" and it will read. So why do I have to complicate my life with Audiblog? Yes, good quality reading but but smooth sailing. I can't even find where to pay on your website to get more reading. Why? Oh well, another good idea has gone wrong. So sad!
