- Once I was able to talk to a tech, took about 10 minutes; he was wonderful. Went above board to remove popups from my computer and other junk items. So helpful! Required calling twice and requesting agent both times. Good luck to anyone having trouble with unwanted pop ups! Thank you McAfee!!!!

- I originally purchased McAfee when I discovered that a hacker had gained access to my PC, even though I had existing security. McAfee not only ejected the hacker, but they have kept my system safe since. They've given me a sense of peace, knowing that they are watching my back.

- I feel very protected. To stop McAfee from forcing Yahoo as your search engine, go to chrome://settings/search and manually change the 'Search engine used in the address bar' back to Google (or your preferred search engine). You may need to do this for each of your Google accounts if they are syncing settings.

- I got this without the app on ChromeOS and still works amazingly! THIS IS GREAT. also I don't want YahooOS AND IT DID NOT DO THAT. I STILL HAVE CHROME :-) wait, will it work I will find out (EDIT) it works :) yay. I can finally block webpages from taking my private ip adress.

- McAfee WebAdvisor is showing "suspicious" warnings for websites that are now verified as safe in the Trellix Real-Time Database. I had a client site that was compromised, fully cleaned and remediated by February 2026. The site now shows "Minimal Risk / Business" in Trellix's main database and passes all Google security checks. However, the WebAdvisor extension continues to display the old "suspicious" warning in Google search results 4+ months after the cleanup. This is harming legitimate business lead generation, even though the threat no longer exists. The issue: The extension appears to be using severely outdated cached reputation data that hasn't synced with Trellix's current database. There's no apparent way for site owners to request a manual cache refresh. Recommendation: McAfee should either: Provide a manual refresh option for verified-clean sites Reduce the cache age on extension data significantly Improve the sync frequency between the main database and the extension The product needs better data currency for legitimate site owners working to remediate security issues.
