This Chrome extension helps you break free from endless scrolling while keeping Reddit’s useful features accessible. It blocks feeds but still lets you open comment threads from external links (e.g., Google search, shared links).
Features:
✅ Smart Blocking – Stop infinite scrolling without fully blocking Reddit
✅ Whitelist – Allow access to specific subreddits
✅ Blacklist – Block distracting subreddits entirely (feeds & comments)
Reddit is both a productivity tool and a time sink. This extension helps you stay focused by eliminating distractions while preserving its utility.

- (2025-07-01) Kapildev Neupane: Works as expected! Glad I found this extension EDIT: Would be nice if we could add "Pause for 5 minutes" because sometimes there is a need to open something for urgent things for which disabling the whole extension is not a good idea.
- (2025-06-20) aurora: Dumb AI slop extension, don't use this
- (2025-06-10) John Ofreza: First blocker that's helped me for any period of time. Can intentionally visit the subreddits I actually use without passively falling into the infinite scroll. I do wish you could change the pop-up message from "YOU SHOULD BE WORKING." I find that kind of guilt-based self-discipline to be more negative than motivating.
- (2025-06-08) Stephanie Ravenscroft: Downloaded this on a whim and it really makes a huge difference. I definitely have a lot more intentionality online now and it's gotten me away from the festering hateful space that is reddit
- (2025-05-24) David Wolfe: The extension achieves what it sets out to do, albeit there are some improvements that can be made. 1) The extension does not work effectively on the current UI of Reddit ("new Reddit"). If you go on a Reddit post and then click on a feed/user profile, the extension doesn't recognise the change and you'd have to refresh the site for the extension to block. This issue does not exist on "old Reddit". 2) The blocking isn't immediate. Both on "old Reddit" and "new Reddit" the extension takes a few seconds to activate, this is an issue as it allows users to take a peep at the feed or user profile which could lead to them disable the extension to pursue what they had saw further. If requested, I can record these issues in demonstration and provide a unlisted YouTube link. I have not set any subreddits to be whitelisted or blacklisted.
- (2025-05-12) Alan McKenna: Reddit killed my family. But with this help from the chrome web store, some justice of note may at last be done.
- (2025-03-21) Study Profile: Good
- (2025-03-19) Ignacy: definitely reduced the amount of time I get sidetracked on the site
- (2025-03-19) Chao Rico: I like this! I am definitely more locked in!!
- (2025-03-16) Raymond Ma: this is the best extension ive seen in my life, thank you.
- (2025-02-19) Andrew Steen: It doesn't allow me to see who replied to me, my settings, etc.
- (2024-12-23) H N: this is great. thanks for implementing this. One thing is the font of the text in the posts seems to be changed after installing.
- (2024-11-05) Joseph Jackson: Btw the suggested posts are still visible on the right sidebar in incognito on Desktop (with extension enabled for Incognito). Also, could you hide the front page's content instead of redirecting, like how the "Unhook - Remove YouTube Recommended & Shorts" extension hides the YouTube main page content without changing the URL. Thank you.
- (2024-10-26) Duck Duck Goose the game Support: Quality product. It does not work when you click homepage.
- (2024-10-22) Mitch Fallon: Big remaining issue: When you enter a comment thread, and then click the homepage, it the Addon does not block it. Perhaps because instead of reddit.com , it's "https://www.reddit.com/?feed=home" I tried adding this to blacklist but it did not work in any iteration. So perhaps an option to block custom links as well as subreddits would be helpful. Otherwise, this app is exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks.
- (2024-10-02) Fabian Torres: Its a step in the right direction -- what annoys me the most is that it makes the text size change from normal reddit text size, which makes it annoying to read going back in forth. If this were fixed, I would give it five stars.
- (2024-09-10) Malik Whitfield: Perfect! Would love this on Firefox as well
- (2024-08-13) Nathan Bennett: Good, blocks DM / Messages T_T
- (2024-05-04) anabella balducci: uninstalled because i dont like the 'you should be working' page that pops up. i would suggest allowing to change the message or just a blank page with the icon of the blocking reddit extension. otherwise an amazing extension idea, but that put me off
- (2024-03-18) Alae: The suggested posts on the right still pop up for me.

- (2022-08-17) Moebits: If you go to a comment thread you can click on the subs name and scroll freely from there. That is a bit too lenient for my tastes but it does a good job of blocking direct sub links.
