Setting Up the Game
Klondike Solitaire uses a standard 52-card deck, without Jokers. The game begins with 28 cards dealt into seven tableau piles, increasing from one to seven cards from left to right. The top card of each pile is face up, while the others are face down. The remaining cards form the draw pile, placed face down at the upper left of the layout.
Objective
The goal is to build four foundation piles in the upper right corner, each pile dedicated to one suit, in ascending order from Ace to King. You'll need to strategically move cards around to achieve this.
Gameplay
- Building Foundations: Start by placing Aces into the foundation piles. Build these piles sequentially in ascending order, following suit.
- Tableau Piles: Arrange tableau cards in descending order, alternating colors. For example, a black five can be played on a red six.
- Moving Cards: Every face-up card in a partial or complete pile can be moved as a unit to another tableau pile based on its highest card. Empty piles can be filled with a King or a pile of cards with a King.
- Drawing Cards: Draw cards from the deck one at a time, placing them face-up. Use these drawn cards to build tableau sequences or add to foundation piles.
