- (2023-10-20) Ashna: EDIT: Developers decided to suddenly make the app paid and not free, and at an outrageous price of $5/month for an extension that performs such a simple function. They haven't even changed the description which says that the app is completely free. I would have paid a small one-time fee to help the developers, but the subscription plan is ridiculous. Greedy move, will be downloading a better extension. Beautiful and customizable. No problems so far, the first one I've found (out of MANY) that actually works without messing up layout or readability.

- (2023-09-15) Gerben Cornelissen: I love this Chrome extension. It darkens bright sites in perfect colors, so the UX of the website remains fully intact. In fact, most of the times, I am not even aware that Dark Mode is active. I highly recommend it. Also, because the screen is way darker, less energy is consumed by the monitor to brighten the images. This way Dark Mode also contributes to energy saving and thereby less environmental impact in the energy supply chain.
- (2023-09-14) Lauren Williams: I used this extension for the last two YEARS and it was fantastic. I literally recommended it to everyone. It dramatically reduced my frequent migraines while writing. Now it's behind a paywall. You shouldn't have to pay for a feature that should be free, and is free on many websites. My eyes literally can't stand the strain of a bright, white screen, and it's not fair to have to pay for that. Absolutely do not use this app.

Uma vez aplicado (executado), age em todos os sites que vão se abrindo, respeitando as cores das fontes, e não invertendo cores das imagens e fotos. Ou seja, muda backgrounds e cores claras para escuras de forma inteligente, com mínima ou zero degradação do layout do site. Excelente! O melhor de todos testado até a data de hoje.

I've gone through a bunch and they either a) don't work; b) offer limited customisation; c) want you to pay a lot for the privilege. This one works, works well, and gives you a whole range of excellent customisation features. The only reason I'm giving it 4/5 rather than 5/5 is because it requires a permission to read your browsing history, which likely means it's collecting that data and doing something questionable with it. I'll probably weigh up whether it's worth the trade.
