This extension allows the user to overlay videos of American Sign Language interpreting onto Disney+ and Netflix videos.
The SignUp Google Chrome Extension overlays American Sign Language (ASL), British Sign Language (BSL) and Indian Sign Language (ISL) interpretation on streaming platforms, including Disney+ and Netflix, for more accessible viewing. It is a media-accessibility tool as well as a learning tool for students of sign language. SignUp is a fun way for kids (and adults!) to enjoy mainstream movies and TV shows.

My family uses SignUp almost daily! It's so fun to watch the different interpreters take on the characters and really convey the emotion and feelings of the characters. Closed captions have got nothing on SignUp's talented team!

Usually so great and amazing. And then now out of no where it refuses to work with disney plus. I can get it to work with netflix but not a single movie on disney works. After I have tried removing and reinstalling, restarting the computer, trying different screens, making sure I have the most recent version. Nothing. Sucks because I use this so often and now it just does not work.
This is awesome! I hope you can have this accessible to MAX HBO and HULU!
I'm a beginner with ASL and this helps me so much! Great selection and I look forward to seeing what else is added. I'm glad there are some more adult/mature movies and hope for more for those who want to practice. I noticed that some interpreters would sign song lyrics, like when there's a song when no characters are talking, and others don't.

I love the idea. It worked on ONE computer but is not working on my laptop. What am I missing here?
This extension doesn't work. I used Chrome and already subscribed to Netflix and Disney. Maybe it doesn't work in Canada?

oh my gosh i'm so glad i found an extension like this~ There's not many options yet, especially for Netflix, but I'm so excited to finally have a more accessible way to practice what my Hard of Hearing family refused to study with me!!

UPDATE: After the latest update, it's working fine now. The SignUp team has also addressed syncing issues with the timing, and that's working better now too. The extension is a good idea and works great up until the most important part: the actual ASL captions video. After I've loaded a movie and selected button to load the captions, it enters an endless "loading, please wait" cycle. The ASL captions never actually load, no matter how long you leave it to load. I left it loading for 3 hours, and they never appeared. I'm not sure if it's an incompatibility issue with the latest version of chrome, but it didn't work on Disney+ or Netflix at all, regardless of the movie, and I know it wasn't the streaming service's fault because the movies would load and play perfectly. The ASL captions just never loaded.
