- (2024-07-02) Carla: So far not well executed. This reading ruler is useful when using a web page, but my main reading hangup that I wanted to use it for is in documents and spreadsheets. My organization uses Microsoft's suite of online tools, and it is difficult for me to find my place in some of our larger spreadsheets due to dyslexia. Unfortunately, the reading ruler doesn't move right when used in a spreadsheet or document. It moves fine on web pages gliding along with my mouse, but in a document or spreadsheet it moves only if I move my mouse off of the browser page and then back to it. Sometimes this makes me lose my place because I will move my curser to a document on one screen to enter data, and then move it back to a document on the other screen and it will cause my highlighted area to jump to wherever my mouse entered the screen. I would love to see this accessibility tool functioning more consistently. It's on the right track. I do find it easy to turn on and off and use otherwise.
