The Tab Groups Helper enables support for Chrome Tabs Groups in Workona, so they stay safely in place whether you close workspaces, switch workspaces, or close your browser.
This extension requires a Workona account.

FAQ
Why do I need this extension?
The Workona Tab Manager doesn’t currently support Chrome Tab Groups. If you’re using both Workona Tab Manager and the tab groups feature in Chrome, this means tab groups will be lost when you close workspaces, switch workspaces, close the browser, or experience a browser restart. This extension prevents that from happening by adding support for Chrome Tab Groups. After adding this extension, you can safely use Chrome Tab Groups alongside Workona (no other steps are necessary).
Why isn’t support for tab groups already included in the Workona Tab Manager?
Due to recent changes in Chrome Web Store extension requirements (related to Manifest v3), adding support for Chrome Tab Groups presents technical challenges that will take time to overcome. Our core extension, the Workona Tab Manager, will eventually support tab groups with no need for an additional extension. In the meantime, adding this extension will keep your tab groups safe and organized.

- I gave it an extra star for its concept. However, I lost 2 very important tab groups testing it out, yes testing it out. Doh! Never assume things will work like they claim. Now granted it could have been user error but... I have worked IT for 25yrs from Desktop Support, Network Admin, Datacenters, IT Support Mgr., Director of IT and most recently as the IT Mathematics Physicist in Geometric Unity Theory (How everything in the universe works, aka. The Theory of Everything. According to Phd. Eric Weinstein... Which makes me the expert on everything. [Future Edit: I regretfully would like to inform my audience it was "user error". hahaha]

- This is still in its infancy, all it does is ensure Chrome Tab Groups can be restored by Workona when you save, close, and reopen a tab group. Would like to see Workona add elements to its tab list that allow for group moving, collapsing (tab hiding), etc. but keeping groups across sessions is a valuable and robust feature. It even works when opening and saving groups across platforms (e.g. Firefox)!

- This extension does nothing at all. I've been relying heavily on tab groups and just wanted to try out Workona for the first time. Made sure to have this extension installed before tinkering with Workona workspaces and then...lost all my tab groups with one click, forever. Maybe it works if you create tab groups after installation, but I cannot confirm.

- When I put my PC to sleep, then tab groups don't work properly and restores tab in two windows with many group split. But when I close chrome and shutdown my laptop, then it works. I want this to work.

- I defined 12 groups. The extesions saves just one. Every single morning for three days I've spent time labeling groups and arranging tabs in them believing I was doing something wrong. After that, it's fair to say that the extension is buggy.

- I really want to use tab groups with Workona. I understand why you broke out this functionality to another extension, but no update in over 9 months and you still show it as an integration that is expected to work. As others have mentioned for many months, "tab groups" settings are not restored when restoring a workspace when the tabs are restored.

- It pains me to leave this review, because I believe in what their team is doing. However the tab groups fail to be restored across sessions 80% of the time, and requires me to take a significant amount of time to restore the tab groups manually.
