Free and fully encrypted password manager to keep your logins and passwords safe.
Free and unlimited password manager to keep your login credentials safe and manage them directly in your browser.
Get the password manager created by the former scientists who met at CERN behind Proton Mail, the world’s largest encrypted email provider. Proton Pass is open-source, end-to-end encrypted, and protected by Swiss privacy laws.
Pass offers more than other free password managers and has no ads or data collection. You can use it for free forever on all your devices to create and store unlimited passwords, autofill logins, generate 2FA codes, create email aliases, secure your notes, and more.
* Protect your logins and their metadata with battle-tested end-to-end encryption
While many other password managers only encrypt your password, Proton Pass uses end-to-end encryption on all your stored login details (including your username, the website address, and more).
* Audit Pass’s open-source code
Like all other Proton services, Pass is open source and built on the principle of trust through transparency. As scientists, we know that transparency and peer review lead to better security. All Proton Pass apps are open source, meaning anyone can verify our security claims for themselves.
* How can Proton Pass be free forever?
We offer Pass for free because everyone deserves online privacy and security. This is possible thanks to our supportive community on paid plans. If you would like to support our work and get access to premium features, consider upgrading your plan.
* Protect more than just your passwords.
Join over 100 million people who have signed up for Proton’s privacy ecosystem, which includes Proton Mail, Proton Drive, Proton Calendar, Proton VPN, and more. Take back control of your privacy online with our encrypted email, calendar, file storage, and VPN.
With Proton Pass, you can:
- Store and auto-sync unlimited logins on unlimited devices: You can create, store, and manage your credentials from anywhere with our browser extension and apps for Android and iPhone.
- Sign in faster with Proton Pass autofill: You no longer need to copy and paste your username and password. Easily and securely log in with Proton Pass autofill technology.
- Avoid weak passwords: With our built-in secure password generator, you can easily generate strong, unique, and random passwords based on the security requirements for every website you sign up to.
- Safely store encrypted notes: You can save private notes in Pass and access them on all your devices.
- Create unique email addresses with hide-my-email aliases: Proton Pass helps you hide your personal email address with email aliases. Keep spam out of your inbox, avoid being tracked everywhere, and protect yourself from data breaches.
- Make 2FA easy with our built-in authenticator: With Pass’s integrated 2FA authenticator, using 2FA is finally fast and convenient. Easily add a 2FA code for any website and use it when you log in.
- Easily organize and share your sensitive data with vaults (paid feature): Manage your logins, secure notes, and email aliases with vaults. In the next version of Pass, you’ll be able to share vaults with your family, friends, or colleagues.
- Quick offline access to your login data: Access your stored passwords and notes in Pass from wherever you are, even when you don’t have internet connection.
- Secure your Pass account with additional security measures: Protect all your data with another layer of protection, either with TOTP or U2F/FIDO2 security keys.

- I had been using LastPass for years prior to trying Proton Pass, and I am soooo glad I made the switch. It's intuitive and easy to use, and I couldn't be happier with this service for managing my passwords securely. Thank you Proton!

- way more flexible than the default password manager

- Proton has been my go-to service because of their security friendly UI. I'm a free user but their features are honestly quite generous though. I love the ease of use on their apps like the password manager, a couple years ago I had a whole sheet of accounts and passwords because I never trusted anythiing to hold my credentials safely, and I don't really have a budget to use those premium ones, I stumbled upon Proton and it's life changing, absolute recommend! :))

- Proton Pass is a very handy tool for managing passwords and Passkeys. The 2 factor (via text) feature is pretty cool too. When the text comes in, Pass will offer to enter it in the website. I like the fact that I can access all of my passwords from my phone and computers. When setting up a new logon, it offers very secure passwords which you can customize for the number of words and characters. when you create an identity at a website, pass will offer to save it for you eliminating the extra steps of adding it to pass later. Over all I'm very happy with the product and look forward to their future updates.

- Great and secure Password manager

- I absolutely LOVE IT! Now I don't have to worry about being restricted to a single device type like the password vault I used before switching to ProtonPass. I'm specifically using it on my Quest 3s since no pc.

- Amazing tool for privacy, keeps you away from spams and tracking. I use the aliases the most to login on any website and instead of deleting the account there I can just disable the alias. To avoid spam and leaks/tracking. Really the best one out there!

- Fantastic password management tool. Equivalent to 1password for a better price and you get a whole suite at the same time.

- Easy to use password manager. Proton encryption is world class. As a bonus, I especially like how easy it is go create alias's which will help tell me who's selling my email. And then block the SPAM that comes in with it.

- This is a very solid password manager with a clean and user-friendly interface. However, one limitation I have encountered is the lack of support for subdomains and port-specific entries. Since I manage numerous subdomains, this often requires manual searching, as only the top-level domain is considered. Enhanced handling of subdomains and ports would significantly improve usability for more complex environments.

- Would give 4.5 stars. I like the security, the cross platform, the sharing. but there are some sites it does not pickup the username/password that lastpass did, so I have to paste into these each time.

- Solid password manager. Sometimes struggles to autofill, but for the most part good. Highly recommended.

- Really good app.

- Great product but annoying "Please rate us" banner

- I looked for a while to find a password tracker that worked on multiple platforms. Proton Pass works very well for me and has saved a lot of hassle with home intranet setup and ensuring strong passwords and MFA. Proton Pass accompanies Proton mail and the Lumo AI - all excellent tools. Thank you.
- Lewis McLaughlin
- Awesome
- Uncarved Block
- Clunky. Like almost all proton products it seems like it was rushed just to get something out quick to compete in the market. Not sure if it is this add-on or the app, or both. Does not always offer to save updated passwords. Unlocking with passcode does not always work. Auto fill for passwords does not always work either.
- Julian Schmitz
- great password manager
- Mark Burns
- Nice integration with Opera, prompts at the write time and just works!
- Suzanne Darling
- When it works, it works fairly well. But getting it to work CONSISTENTLY, that's the trick! At least half the time, it needs to be 'woken up', since clicking in the box where you need to log in doesn't trigger it. You click the extension icon, and all you get is a blank, black box. Ugghh! Opening the Chrome Extensions page and you see the ext. says "service worker (Inactive)", so the annoying workaround is you can click on those 3 words (they're clickable) and it'll usually turn inactive to active, whereupon you can go back to the site to click the login box, then click the ProtonPass Chrome icon again and it "wakes up" and says it's signing you in and then it works. When clicking "service worker (Inactive)" DOESN'T turn it active, then you can open a site you're already logged into, or go to the ProtonPass site. I was intent on trying to install their app, but after detailing allllll that, it seems like a LOT of trouble. Plus, it's also supposed to work as a reliable autofill extension, but it NEVER has done so, not once, even though some of the info you fill out to register is exactly that.

- Shows nag screens asking user to rate the extension.

- easy to use, gives great overview of all the passwords

- I am a recent user. It seems to work as intended so far with one exception: if I restart my computer, I can't log in ProtonPass because it...asks me for my password! Without my phone I can't access it (and I assume, vice versa). With my previous password manager, my fingerprint was enough to log back in. Could we have that please?

- Far better than any other password manager I've used - including the ones built into the browser. Only remote competitor is Apple Passwords used on a mac.

- Not a bad app, but full of fundamental flaws, first among them that autofill might, on a good day, work 1 of 10 attempts.

- I used Nord previously, but moved to Proton (ultimate) for overall privacy benefits. To me, the password manager is overall a joy to work with, in-browser extension or (Linux) desktop application.
- Mohamed CHERIFI
- Beautiful, Simple, Secure. I Mean what's more there to ask for, and the free version already covers most of the needs, I didn't really have to pay for the plus version
- Ed Schultz
- I use Keepass for archiving my credentials but really use ProtonPass for all my realtime secure needs. I find it efficiently easy to use. I appreciate the fact that their source code is kept and maintained on github (github.com/protonpass).
- Gabriel Da Silva
- I am really disappointed with the lack of features. Aside from email aliases, Proton Pass is far behind competitors. They have been promising biometric authentication for their extension for years and telling us that it is coming soon, but we have yet to receive this crucial update. After years, I am looking for alternatives. Sorry Proton, you had your chance. https://protonmail.uservoice.com/forums/953584-proton-pass-authenticator/suggestions/46854853-unlock-browser-extension-with-biometrics

- I found transferring my information easy, it's fairly easy to use, and it makes keeping our information secure feel effective but not overwhelming.
