Simple Notepad
Make notes and sync them. What could be more simple?
What could be more simple than wanting to create a note whilst browsing the web? Well Simple Notepad allows you to do just that! In fact Simple Notepad lets you create as many notes as you want. Do you use more than one installation of Chrome? Then your notes will sync across your different installations using your bookmarks so you'll never have to worry about keeping your notes in sync manually, or wonder what the note said on your other machine, it just happens!
Ok so enough of the waffle here is a feature list:
-- Create multiple notes
-- Notes backed up to your Google bookmarks (this can be turned on/off in the Simple Notepad options)
-- Notes synced across Chrome installations (requires Bookmark Syncing)
-- Synchronizing on a schedule and manually force a synchronization.
-- It will remember where you were editing the note and keep the cursor position and even the selection.
-- Resize the note window to whatever size you like.
-- Copy selected text to a note using a right click menu.
-- Copy a link to a note using a right click menu
-- Copy the page title and URL to a note using a right click menu
-- Can choose between the classic Simple Notepad layout and an Opera Notes style layout

Thanks man!!!!! On Sep 8th, 2025, I received the update for manifest v3 and the extension works again!!!! I didn't delete this extension as chrome suggested and waiting for this day for months. This really happened. I use this extension over 10 yrs. Thanks for update!!!!!
There is no Trash Button. Notes accidentally deleted will never be recovered. Even temporally notes, the user might need to keep the material for later reference. User at risk of disappointments and risk of notes accidentally deleted and not recovered.
Simple and does the job, nothing more. I love it. However, this extension may not exist much longer, and I wish the developer would update this extension to follow chrome's new guidelines, if possible? Please? re: "This extension may soon no longer be supported because it doesn't follow best practices for Chrome extensions."
Sync does not work. Deletes new notes and does not update regularly.
can you extend the extension to replace default 'new tab' page

Its okay for me - really helping a lot fordaily use. But the problem is SYNC not working properly . If u Log on other PC with same account - some notes there but most of them unsynced :(

I gave it one star because it DID change my bookmarks it added this thing called "Other Bookmarks" and I don't know how to get rid of it.(If you got this extension and know how to get rid of it please tell me.) I tried installing it but was still there. So I installed it again to write a 1 star (because there was no 0 star) review. I hop this helps.

Works great for me. No problems so far but haven't tried to sync it yet with other devices. Don't need it for my laptop, so don't care about that. Just wanted a basic note pad and this seems to fit the bill. Does what I need it to do, which is make/keep notes while I'm working on my chromebook.

I highly recommend this extention. It has helpped me a lot with online work. If a document does not load then I use this. It is very simple to use and very effective! I have been using it for about a year and still works great!

needed a simple notepad, we can add diff notes too. that good
very good but 2 thing is missing . first i cant write mannualy note heading its takes form note second one is very danger . when i click on minus icon note is delete parmanenet how can undo. if accedently click on delete button. plz fix or befor delete ting asking for are you sure you want to delete add this popup

Muy buena herramienta, pero como hago para sincronizarlo con google androi de tal manera que pueda ver lo que guardado en PC hacia mi celular. gracias
does not sync. dpm't waste time, or get you hopes up for a way to send a simple note that you can find from another machine. developers aer just getting stupider over time. This one must have created the app the democrats used to count votes.......

Takes notes, quick and easy. That's all I want. My only complaint is that the minimum size is unreasonably large. Thanks.

Can´t actually synchronize between Chrome under same user name at the first place. After several attempt, I can make it. Please try pure text for notes. Now, I like it.

I gave it just 2 stars because... 1. I don't like its's auto-open pane, it is a very noisy feaure. 2. It has no dark theme.Actuually it comes without any visual theme. 3. It has just few option in customization. - no visual theme - no option to change font and/or font style

It works well, certainly better than some other notepads on the store, but it does often have a lot of trouble keeping data between different devices. Once this has a secure patch, I wouldn't recommend anything else.

Está bien, pero tiene el mismo problema de siempre: En cuanto tocas en cualquier otro sitio de la pantalla, la nota deja de estar a la vista... Justo lo que necesito.
