Description from store FluentAI – AI-Powered Dual-Subtitle Language Learning Extension FluentAI turns movies and videos into interactive language lessons. It overlays dual subtitles (original + translation) on Netflix, YouTube, Disney+, and other platforms, so you read and learn simultaneously. Every word is clickable: instant translations, definitions, example sentences, and grammar analysis appear in a popup just like a built-in dictionary. This immersive approach follows the trend of other tools (e.g., Language Reactor, Lingopie) that emphasize “Netflix dual subtitles” and interactive vocabulary. FluentAI goes further by using AI to support all languages (no hard-coded list) and syncing subtitles precisely with the audio. Key Features: * Dual Bilingual Subtitles: Works on Netflix, YouTube, Disney+, HBO Max, etc., showing original and translated subtitles together. Instantly look up any subtitle word (click or tap) to get translations, pronunciation, and usage examples. * AI-Powered Translation & Grammar: Unlike simple subtitle-only tools, FluentAI uses AI to translate any language and analyze grammar. Clicking a word also reveals grammar notes and contextual explanations (similar to Lingopie’s AI grammar feature). Sentence breakdowns and AI grammar help make even complex lines easy to understand. * Integrated Vocabulary Notebook & Flashcards: Save words or entire phrases with one click. FluentAI automatically creates smart flashcards (with audio and example sentences) and lets you export them (e.g., to Anki). A built-in notebook organizes saved words with filters and tracks which words you’ve learned (feature-comparable to Migaku’s flashcard system). * Custom Playback Modes: Learning modes like Pause Mode (auto-pause on new words), Voice-Repeat Mode (listen and repeat with AI voice), and Resume Mode help match the video to your study pace. There’s even speed-control and looping to focus on tricky phrases. * Customizable Subtitle Display: Adjust subtitle font, color, size, position, opacity, and background blur. Support for lifelike text-to-speech means FluentAI can read any subtitle out loud in a natural voice – handy for pronunciation practice. * Full-Length, Multi-Language Support: Thanks to AI, FluentAI works on full movies or series in any language, without pre-built subtitle sets. Whether it’s Spanish telenovelas or Korean dramas, FluentAI generates dual subtitles on-the-fly. (Competitor tools like Trancy support many sites and languages, and FluentAI matches that flexibility.) * Progress Tracking & Statistics: FluentAI keeps statistics on your learning – how many words you’ve saved, practiced, or mastered. Use these analytics to see your improvement over time (a feature missing in basic subtitle extensions). Comparison with Other Extensions: FluentAI includes all the core tools of the popular language-learning players and adds extra AI enhancements: * Language Reactor (a.k.a. “Language Learning with Netflix”): Offers dual subtitles on Netflix plus a popup dictionary. FluentAI matches these (covering Netflix and much more) and adds AI-synced subtitles and interactive word analysis on YouTube, Disney+, etc. * Lingopie: Provides smooth bilingual subtitles and clickable word lookups with AI grammar help. FluentAI offers the same instant translation and grammar insights on subtitles, but extends them to all streaming/video sites and languages. * Migaku: Known for its powerful flashcard creation and tracking. FluentAI likewise lets you create flashcards from any video subtitle and export decks (e.g., to Anki), while also providing more playback-learning modes. * Trancy: Supports bilingual subs on YouTube/Netflix and has AI text translation for web content. FluentAI’s focus is on video, but it also handles any site text. On videos, FluentAI provides similar bilingual subtitles plus advanced modes (pause, voice-repeat) not found in Trancy. By combining these features, FluentAI becomes a one-stop solution: Netflix dual subtitles, YouTube dual subtitles, plus interactive word definitions, grammar breakdowns, example sentences, and smart flashcard tools – all in one extension. Try, you’ll like it.

  • (2025-07-15) John Frida: I love this extension! I know it’s still in beta, and it’s been great to see the progress so far. The price is very fair, and I’m willing to pay it even though there were a few bugs here and there (which were fixed super quickly). The support team is amazing - friendly, responsive, and they address issues immediately. I really appreciate that kind of attention. I’ve tried other similar apps, and this one is by far the best!
  • (2025-07-15) Kira: Great extention
  • (2025-07-15) Ugcagency Ugc: This extension changed my life! Now I speak Spanish fluently thanks to this extension together with Netflix movies that i love! Thanks so much
  • (2025-07-15) Loulou1998: I have tried this extension and i was very impressed! its so much better then Language Reactor, Migaku, Tracy, Lingo Pie.. I am happy i found it and highly recommend for those who are looking to polish a language they are learning.
  • (2025-07-13) saiyo nekami: the best extension for dual subtitles thus far. i love you.
  • (2025-07-09) Wojciech Gajewski: cannot log in trough google
  • (2025-06-19) Ahmed Nasr: Works perfectly with minimal configuration for Netflix. This is the first I've ever written a review for an extension, thank you so much for making this!
  • (2025-06-10) Andrew Wang: I love it, works very well. At some point last week, Youtube isn't able to find the subtitles anymore. When they fix it, I will give it a 5 star review.
  • (2025-06-07) Matthew Bonwick: It only works on Netflix for me. Prime crashes if I try to load it (I've tried Chrome and Edge). YouTube never detects subtitles, and the audio cuts out constantly. The settings page, particularly the platform section, doesn't save your selected options. So, it will keep loading and crashing websites even if you've selected the option not to run on Prime or YouTube. The Anki extract tool is clunky and not very useful. It's a cool concept, but the app is far from being ready, and on many platforms, it just straight-up doesn't work.
  • (2025-05-30) Dinis R: Thank you FluentAI.
  • (2025-05-30) Jonson Roy: Useful Extension. Thanks
  • (2025-05-30) John Nelson: Great Extension.
  • (2025-05-30) Liya Kharitonova: best one out of all tbh, and i’ve tried pretty much everything. trancy looks clean but doesn’t even work right — super buggy, fake reviews all over. language reactor’s way too bloated, UI’s a mess. too much going on, slows everything down. migaku’s confusing and clunky unless you spend hours setting it up. lingopie’s just curated netflix clips with subtitles — barely any real control or depth. fluentai’s the only one that felt smooth and actually useful for picking stuff up. dual subs, clean vocab saving, no lag. still growing but the team actually listens and support’s solid.
  • (2025-03-31) Sepehr Spr: in just a word, GREAT. the UI is beautiful, it works smooth and explains every word very clearly. just love it.❤️
  • (2025-03-14) Argy Yan: So far this is the best extension I have ever tried for learning a language when watching my Netflix series or I use it to watch Netflix videos that I struggle to understand when the audio is simply too fast (in english). Also I must admit that the FluentAI Neural Subtitles system on Youtube video is amazing compared to the platform one !! Love that :). In my opinion, this extension is underrated and should be brought up to a broader audience !!
  • (2025-03-08) Vladyslav Haman: The most stylish extension I've ever had. Extremely useful, works great.
  • (2025-03-03) cenk korkmaz: need to login? instant uninstall. why does an extension need an account to translate subtitles?
  • (2025-01-27) Roxane Pajoul: Edit Jan 27 2025: Encountered some issues logging in but Sasha worked on it and it works again! Very happy with this extension! It is FREE (at least from my experience after 2 hours of watching this morning). I have tried other extensions and they require you to pay after 15 min. The translation from Dutch to English is pretty good. There are some literal translations that do not make senses but it is usually one word by itself at the end of a sentence that means "right?" or "isn't it?". Otherwise, most translations are very good and I am learning tons new words :D
  • (2024-12-04) Jonathan Schoreels: Really bad, tokenizing each subtitle takes more time than the time for the video to go to next one, dictionnary and adding to notebook require multiple click, can't shift-hover with yomitan, the anki export export very basic and non configurable cards.
  • (2024-12-01) Mariam Elawady: Extension is stuck at the 'initializing - checking for maintenance' step on YouTube.
  • (2024-11-24) öz: fine
  • (2024-11-12) Lei Deng: too many bugs, takes forever to load up the subtitles.
  • (2024-10-04) Sergey Maksin: Application certainly has potential. I didn't use it much, but give 5 stars after first tests to support and motivate developer to move forward. I decided to get annual subscription to explore this App more. It's already helpful (especially with option to export memory cards to Anki), but as a learner of German I'd be really happy to see in pop-up info some words attributes for Nouns (Der, Die, Das / Plural) and Verbs (Verb tenses forms). Export of words to memory cards in context - great idea. I will try more to see how it works with different levels of language and update review later. But so far - worth checking and already usable and usefull.
  • (2024-09-29) WeissP 765: This could be a very nice extension in the future. I had a really good experience with Netflix. However, I ran into some problems on YouTube. It keeps saying that subtitles can’t be found, even when there are non-auto-generated subtitles available. I was super excited when I saw the button "export to Anki", however, the exported CSV only includes original text, no translations, no sources or anything else. Even with these issues, I'm still planning to use this on Netflix. I'm really looking forward to seeing how this extension develops!
  • (2024-09-15) Adir Yaakov: I’ve been using this extension for a while now, and it’s amazing how much my language skills have improved just by watching videos. It feels effortless and fun, and I love how it fits into my daily routine. The autodubbing feature in particular is very useful for me.
  • (2024-08-19) Andriy Shell: At first glance seems very convenient and powerful tool. Thank you.
  • (2024-08-09) Ёжик Angella: Learn and enjoy! What could be better! With this extension, I can not only learn new words while watching my favorite movies, but I can also save them in a notebook for later review. This means my learning continues even after the movie ends! The words I learn come from real-life situations and context, which is incredibly important for effective learning. The double subtitles feature is fantastic for language acquisition, and it also allows me to enjoy movies with my foreign friends. The developers are incredibly friendly and make using this extension a breeze. They are open to suggestions and address any bugs quickly. Highly recommend giving it a try!
  • (2024-07-26) Zlata: Extremely useful extension for those who study languages! With its help, the study will be even more interesting and useful. Very comfortable and user-friendly UI.
  • (2024-07-16) Ivan: Amazing extension! Works really well on Netflix. It pauses after each sentence and repeats it in a clear computer voice.
  • (2024-07-05) RS: A good application for learning a foreign language. I'm learning Finnish. This is the best app I've tried.
  • (2024-06-26) Sana M: This is such a cool use of AI! I hope they can support Hulu as well :)
  • (2024-06-22) Kantulaev: Excellent alternative to language reactor wish all the best
  • (2024-05-23) Mark Sisley: Update: Fantastic developer had this fixed in just a few hours :-) Look forward to seeing how your extension evolves over time! Love the direction of the extension, but I am experiencing a bug where when opening a show, initialization seems to fail, the page refreshes, shows the netflix logo, and the process repeats itself over and over again. Once the kinks are worked out, this will be a fantastic learning aid, much better than other alternatives :-)
  • (2024-02-16) Iver Vassilyev: Thank you for your response. I was looking for an alternative to language reactor because it sucks as it blocks YouTube videos. When I discovered yazyk I thought I finally found it but it didn't support youtube, so I'm hoping if you can add it on YouTube even if the captions aren't perfect, as it is my primary use. Thank you.
  • (2024-01-24) Mathios Hanani: Amazing app, very useful for learning efficiently ! Great work
