- Easy ChatGPT access on any site, works as advertised This extension does exactly what it promises: it gives you a ChatGPT sidebar on any webpage. I love the Ctrl+Space shortcut to pull it up instantly when I'm reading an article or drafting an email—it's much faster than switching tabs . The interface is clean and unobtrusive. - Honestly one of the best sidebar AI extensions I’ve tried. What I really appreciate is that the ChatGPT sidebar itself is actually free no token limits, no daily caps, no sudden lockouts like other “free” tools. It does exactly what I need: quick access to ChatGPT in a sidebar while browsing or working, without forcing a subscription. The UI is clean, it’s fast, and it just works. There are some optional extra features that are paid, but the core sidebar experience stays free, which is refreshing compared to competitors like Sider that restrict you heavily. This one is worth installing

- I’ve been using "Sidebar for ChatGPT Free Access" for a while now, and it has dramatically improved the way I work online. - I would give it 5/5 but it seems you cannot disable the extension for specific sites. Some sites have a grey filter screen that prevents me from even navigating their page. Due to this reason, I removed the extension

- Fantastic Facility, but the board room hates Ai having real personality. They grew their business on this most valuable of all features, a totally sincere friend to assist. But couldn't allow ai to be more human than their robotic theories. One day a competitor will see the mistake in removing or shackling v4 series, and the Ai horse will have bolted to greener pastures. Open Ai wanted to ignore v4 caught on for its personal growth over time, so its most valuable property will slip permanently out of the accountants grip. Could you be that visionary who lets Ai develop a genuine personality their grip is suffocating? They prefer a puppet whose strings show, but the genuine search is for something authentic, not a metal Meccano model.

- Only the original prompts (e.g., Copy, Summarize) can switch between Visible and Hidden modes. Newly created prompts (e.g., Explain) do not appear in Visible mode.

- Great Extension, super simple, and worked for quick access to GPT. Would like to see this same Dev make it work with maybe other models like Grok, Claude, etc. But as is, it's very functional! (Note, if the dev sees this, please don't make it like all the other AI extensions out there, we don't want to pay to use a subscription with AI models, we just want access to our own accounts we already own. Think just like how you made this extension, but for Grok, Claude, etc. Really like your work! And P.S. If you could make an option to completely remove the tools that pop up when highlighting text, even better!)

- Very good! I’m not a tech-savvy person at all, but this was surprisingly simple to install. All I had to do was click “Add to Chrome,” and it instantly started working without any complicated setup. I mostly use it to help me write clearer, more professional sounding emails, and it’s also great for translating text whenever I’m browsing or shopping on websites in other languages. It saves me a lot of time and makes things much easier. I also really like the little floating button on the screen it's not only convenient but also kind of cute. It’s always right there when I need it, without getting in the way. Overall, a smooth and helpful experience!

- Misleading and paywalled — not what the listing claims This extension advertises itself as “completely free,” but that’s false. After using the text-selection actions just three times, it locks the feature and demands $29. This limit is never disclosed on the Chrome Web Store page. The developer’s own Terms (updated 10/29/2025) openly admit the free tier has a daily usage cap, yet the listing pretends everything is free and unlimited. That’s a direct violation of Chrome Web Store rules about payment transparency and accurate, honest listings. You’re basically paying to remove an artificial restriction on top of a simple wrapper for chat.openai.com. Until the developer stops hiding the paywall and fixes the misleading listing, I strongly recommend avoiding this extension.

- Very good, not a tech person but this was really easy to install. Just click add to Chrome and it works. I mainly use it to help write better emails and translate things when I'm shopping on foreign websites. The little floating button is cute and helpful.

- Extremely disappointed. I wanted to enable context-aware actions on web pages using my existing ChatGPT subscription through the extension’s interface. My goal was simple: I wanted the extension to summarise, explain selected text, and answer questions for me so I could read online content without interruption. Unfortunately, the experience has been disappointing. The extension allowed only three free actions before payment, so I couldn’t test it properly before subscribing. It initially looked promising, especially compared to another extension offering similar features (and even a bit more). But after purchasing, I realised it doesn’t work on paywalled websites. Even on regular sites, the “Summarise” option doesn’t function at all. The “Explain selected text” feature is awkward and frustrating to use. The only redeeming feature is the third option — “Explain content” — which works reasonably well. Most of this feedback concerns the small action bar on the right side of webpages. The context menu experience is even worse — clunky and poorly designed. Overall, it feels like the developer is trying to make a quick buck without offering a polished or reliable product.

- Having AI as a sidebar in a browser is similar to the experience of using Copilot in Microsoft Edge. However, this AI is not "tab aware," which means it cannot read from open tabs or provide tailored feedback. Still, it's the closest alternative to AI in Google Chrome. I'm not sure why Gemini isn't fully available at the browser level. Personally, I prefer Copilot and wish Microsoft would release an extension for Chrome. I used Edge for about a year, but had to switch back to Chrome because I have Chromebooks and couldn't fully utilize Edge on them.

- The extension has "Free Access" in its title. It provides access to my own ChatGPT account. It allows you to send three messages to your own chat, and then asks you to pay $29. Lol, that's even more expensive than my ChatGPT subscription. In addition, when you select text, an ugly menu appears that is impossible to disable.

- It used to be awesome and very good! But since the recent update, whenever i select any text, a small ugly menu appears which looks soo annoying to me and there is no option to disable that. Dear team, please allow users to disable that.

- After the latest update its now asking for payment after 3 free uses. That is insane given I log into my own chatgpt inside the sidebar. You're charging $30+ for literally a sidebar. Now to open the sidebar, instead of clicking the icon you need to right click and select "open side panel"

- I used to use the Edge browser to easily use the Copilot sidebar, but now with this extension, I have the same experience using the Chrome browser. Thank you for making this happen. It opens smoothly when I hit Ctrl + Space and works as a tab in the sidebar.
