After a bit of digging, I found out I had to open desk app and go to "Connections" > "Enable". Even after that, when I entender the vault code... "Failed authenticating: Background task failed: Desktop request failed: 403 Forbidden". Have to do even more digging now :( Sorry, Perry, I know this was something you didn't want to do. Desktop and iOs apps still work perfectly though EDIT MAY 20 2024 - Don't know what changed, I tried to connect the extension to the Desktop app and it worked, without any extra work. Works again

The setup with the desktop application has not a good user experience and the popup menu to open and type the password to unlock the vault is not use friendly at all. I think a good enhancement to let the password be typed on addon and sent it throughout the connection to the desktop app. The experience in having to change windows is not that good
• (2024-03-28) Wakefield Morys-Carter: The browser extension stopped working for me after the recent upgrade. The reason, I discovered, was because my app version was too old. Version 2.6+ is required. Installing it and enabling browser access got me up and running again.
• (2024-03-27) Zely Unc: It suddenly upgraded to V3. I previously didn't use desktop app and kept the file in online drive. After installing desktop app and connected to g drive, the app failed to import the old vault file. Took me long enough to finally get it imported. Even after that, the button that usually appears for 1-click login on the web page is gone from it's usual place. I think it got moved to the extension icon. Seriously UX is bad and having to install a desktop app is not really 'light-weight' imo. 100% prefer the old version.

• (2021-03-04) S Abraham: I was struggling to find a decent KeePass extension. They all appear to be outdated and don't quite work. Buttercup was suggested. It's a GREAT replacement for LastPass on the desktop. Apps for Apple, Android, not as great depending on your preferences. It's not constantly running in the background, autofilling passwords with one tap. It appears that you actually have to open the app, find the username/password you need, then copy and paste. So, if you don't have as many needs on mobile (and you may not - so many of my services use biometrics, I only need this for the outliers!), Buttercup seems to be a good alternative.

And you can build your own Team PW Manager functionality by just using another Vault and Master-Password and then sharing that with your Teams over DropBox or Google Drive (more coming soon I am sure). Really well thought out and already looks great too!

Anyhow there are crucial things that I need to address because they simply annoy me: 1) they change too much of the markup which then could easily be copied into other markup (when editing HTML in the browser). 2) they add ugly CSS classes to forms so some forms around the web will look ugly if they don't make a form unusable in some cases. 3) Buttercup keeps on asking to save a password and there is no way to tell the extensions "never on this page" 4) the Buttercup extension should be deactivatable from the toolbar, so it might be possible to turn it off quickly. 5) Even better, buttercup should stop working on pages that have been marked as "never ask again if I want to save my password for this site". So there's a long way to go – though it's a good start.

• (2018-11-06) Ferran Buireu: Excepcional, tanto a nivel de diseño como de facilidad de uso. Además es open-source. Sin lugar a dudas se come a la competencia en cuanto a filosofia y características. Si bien aún le queda trabajo por hacer y características por mejorar (widget de los inputs por ejemplo) tiene muy buena pinta.
