Google Calendar does not provide a simple option to show desktop notification on event-end. Yet, this feature might prevent overdoing what you have planned. This extension implements exactly that: sends simple notification just before the end of the event. As with default event-start notifications, chrome should be opened and calendar tab should be presented.
