Description from store Tabmanager.io is an all-in-one session, window and tab manager extension for Chrome that helps you manage your open tabs, tab-groups and windows in one convenient place. ★ Windows & Tabs Our manager empowers you to swiftly navigate through open windows and tabs using either your mouse or keyboard. You can effortlessly switch between tabs and windows, search and filter tabs by title or URL keywords, and efficiently manage various aspects of your tabs such as pinning, sorting, grouping tabs by domain, suspending, identifying tabs with sound, and removing duplicates. Additionally, you have the option to export your tabs and windows as files for backup, save tabs for future use, and synchronize them across multiple devices. Our manager presents a multiple column layout that enables you to gain a comprehensive overview of all your open windows and tabs while providing the flexibility to organize your windows by renaming them. Through simple drag and drop functionality, you can easily move tabs between windows, open them in new windows, or merge entire windows. The tab manager also offers convenient features to save tabs for later restoration. You can save specific tabs within a window, save all tabs within a window, or save the entire session encompassing all open windows. ★ Tab Groups The tab manager comes with built-in support for managing your tab-groups. You can easily create a new tab group, move groups between windows, merge tab groups, rename tab groups and save your tab groups and restore them with the window at a later time. ★ Session Manager The session manager provides a comprehensive view of all your saved sessions, allowing you to effortlessly manage and swiftly restore previously saved sessions. Our intelligent restore feature ensures that opening tabs in a new or existing window does not slow down your computer, as tabs are opened in a suspended state. You can also sync your saved sessions to the cloud, ensuring data integrity and accessibility across all your devices. ★ Session History You can access a timeline overview of your browser sessions, enabling you to easily restore individual windows or tabs from earlier points in time. Save session snapshots from either the manager or the menu, providing you with the flexibility to quit your browser or temporarily use a blank browser without the risk of losing your tabs. Enabling the auto-save session feature helps you track your local browser session history in case of a browser crash. Sessions in the session history is saved on your local machine and are not saved to the cloud. Tabmanager.io is designed to provide all these features in a compact size compared to our competitors. Ideally the extension should recognise named windows and when naming windows through this extension, make it through the native functionality provided by Chrome, as the name window feature of this extension only works inside itself.
  • (2025-06-25) Ashish Alexander: Cons: "expand / close" Tab groups - in tab manager UI is not work for most tab groups in the tab manager ui. (Edge Linux
  • (2025-06-18) Alex Oja: Slow, clunky, convoluted. Basic core functions are behind multiple clicks, useless confirmations, slow modification of sessions, bad grouping logics and static view, insufficient settings, very very bad search. The functional framework is there, this is a few changes from being a 5 star extension. As it is now it does not save time but wastes it more than default session management.
  • (2025-05-14) Botasky: Saving session with tab groups is awesome. I hope could set auto save interval.
  • (2025-05-03) Will Wang: great ext!! always recommend to my friends :)
  • (2025-04-22) Dibujor: Works perfectly for my use case. In fact I tried to upgrade to be able to cloud sync and backup but neither gpay nor link worked and I'm not giving my card away everywhere... Also imported sessions don't show up even though the extensions says "file imported"
  • (2025-03-29) Tony: Doesn't work on mises browser android , it installs and I can open the manager but it doesn't show I have any tabs or history of any tabs .
  • (2025-03-29) Nep Llamo: Very close to Cluster - Window & Tab Manager. Merge all windows at in one step.
  • (2025-02-22) mountnittany: after trying a dozen of other similar ones, this is the best one ! one suggestion, could you add the function that group tabs by domain name, then could kill all tabs for one site. could search, and kill all, but that is more handy if could group by domain name... thanks !
  • (2025-02-22) Jheng-Yan Li: Everything looks great, and it would be great if the tab search function could add a regular expression.
  • (2025-02-18) Ifer30: Good! I would like to be able to use enter or d to confirm delete session, and it would be nice to configure frequency of saves, but has been working well.
  • (2025-01-10) baba7 family: Very handy tool. Best of ~10 tested tab managers. UI is very very good. Allows fast work. Great would be categories and sucategries for saved sessions
  • (2024-12-05) Richard Simms: Terrible, saved over 4000 tabs over 2 months, everything going fine, one day i restart my computer and it wipes it!
  • (2024-12-03) Stephen Pomeroy: Great spiritual successor to Cluster. Works well and is stable. If it only recognized and allowed you to save tab groups like Cluster did, it would be the perfect replacement.
  • (2024-09-11) Nino Lang: Best manager, I did try a lot the last weeks. You can save the whole session or every window separately. Would be perfect, if you could save for example 5 windows into one folder into the "saved session" card.
  • (2024-09-02) Paul Adam: very nice and stable
  • (2024-08-11) Emre YILMAZ: It can be better. We cant expand the groups for example for over a year. I thought it was a easy fix but its not apparently. Also the app resets itself randomly for some reason. I get copy of the session every week but what if i dont? edit : we can collapse groups but we cant expand.
  • (2024-07-31) Anson: Cannot restore CSV JSON backup, and lack of tagging/folder to manage saved session.
  • (2024-07-22) Илья Гульков: For people trying to juggle 5000+ tabs, this is useless junk. You can view all open tabs in a list, which is nice, but there is NO provision to group them! I mean, you can create new windows, move tabs between them — this is 100% possible without the extension, you guys! Yes, it also provides a way to "archive" whole windows, but the term "archive" is right here — you can't even see archived tabs on the same screen as open ones. This is certainly much, much worse than just using TabCopy to archive your browser windows in text files. 0/5 I don't even
  • (2024-06-21) David Conger: This app is offers some better user features so far compared to some other apps I have used. (except Skeema, which is retiring June 28th, its in a league of its own). Session Buddy is close but has no "drag & drop" or "groups" integration feature yet, but has a better UI. There are quite a few functions that need to be added or fixed, however. For one thing the UI needs to be more modern, like Session Buddy UI. Tab "Favicons" or "visual thumbnails" of tabs do not show in the list of tabs, most all other apps have that feature. Why are windows just randomly named a number string? Why not name the window with date and time stamp? Naming windows in open sessions with random numbers is very confusing, has to be a better way. There is no way to click on a tab and then click on "control" or "shift" key to select a multiple range of tabs to move, drag, drop the selected tabs into another window/session/collection. A major feature needed is "nested folders", so subfolders can be added to saved session folders to better organize a collection, that way new tabs can be added to new "catagories". Drag & drop" will not work in saved session windows or history. Clicking the "arrow" to "expand" saved tab groups does not work, will not expand to show what tabs are in the group in the saved sessions or history windows. Merging function needs more work, should not add duplicates to the merged window. Active session and history windows are not offered to merge with saved session windows in the menu popup box. There should be a way to show all of the content of open session windows along with all the content of saved session windows in the main "list view" screen so new current session tabs and groups can be dragged and dropped into previous saved session windows collections. Also saved sessions list does not show number of tabs, or date last updated. Is there a way to select a color for sessions or saved windows folders? Also, I do not see any "settings" menu to adjust the History settings (auto-save snapshot intervals etc.). I cannot locate any "user guide or "help" for the app. Customer support does not seem to exist. I have tried to contact customer support numerous times and do not receive any responses from them. Update June 20, 2024: This extension would be at 3 stars (5 stars if the issues above are addressed), if only there was some customer service response, over 4 weeks now and no contact from them............
  • (2024-05-23) Tom Schi: It's a great extension, it even displays Chrome Tab Groups. What I am missing: 1. There is a command "collapse Windows". I miss the command "collapse Tab Groups", so that we can just see Tabs which are not in Tab Groups 2. I miss a command to Filter Tab Groups. E.g. filter all Tab Groups containing "YouTube" in their name
  • (2024-05-20) Steph Nachname: So far it looks fine. Also, some people on here wrote that the app recovers closed windows by reloading them from the original website. This is not true. The tabs get recovered from their previous states. It takes longer than with the original function by chrome but it does not reload 200 tabs if you recover a 200 tab window. It reinstates them. You can test this by taking a window with many tabs and save it with Tabmanager. Then close the window. With Ctrl+Shift+T you can recover the window with the chrome function. It's quicker but does not reload the tabs. Now close it again and this time recover it from TabManager. You can see it takes a bunch longer but still recovers everything without accessing the websites again. That means you don't get blocked for spamming on some websites for opening such a window. I only found a small bug so far. If clicking on expand group in the manager, it reflects the click in chrome but not in the manager. I did not yet experience the sudden loss of all tabs, which a number of users reported, so I will be cautious and at least backup all tabs as bookmarks additionally. Also I have enabled in chrome itself that the previous session gets recovered. And if chrome is crashing there is the chrome session recovery anyway.
  • (2024-05-07) Bhavul Gauri: Good, but does not pick up the names of windows as assigned from "Windows -> Name Window..." Also, whatever name gets assigned to each window in tabmanager.io is erased on a relaunch of Chrome. Love the extension otherwise. Super useful.
  • (2024-05-01) Tobias Neuschäfer: Great baseline, but it needs better search to be useable for me. Session History has no search at all, search in Saved Sessions only searches the title of the session, nothing else. The auto-save session feature is also quite wonky. It doesn't auto save upon closing a window or the entire browser, there's no setting for a interval for the snapshots, nor does there seem to be a consistent intervall at all.
  • (2024-04-26) NvKug Yee: Bug, no restore all my groups
  • (2024-04-20) Gaming Tom: I have 519 open tabs… which are jobs I have to get done. And Tabmanager.io has great tools to work with Tabs. Just one thing is missing: It would be great if we could sort the chrome windows (or maybe the tabs themselves) by when they were last worked on. (For example, the "last worked on chrome window date" could be the last time a Chrome window or tab had the focus or when a tab was loaded, moved, created or deleted. These are all indications of the last work in a Chrome window :-)
  • (2024-03-18) Advocate: Almost like the DOA old version of Session Buddy. RIP
  • (2024-03-15) Eric Scoles: Tentative 5-star: so far, looks good - provides features that Session Buddy just regressed in the name of cosmetics, like searching URLs as well as page title, one-click foregrounding, import/export, etc. May revise downward if import/export tests this weekend don't go well, but right now it looks good.
  • (2024-03-14) Michael: It would be amazing if it could restore incognito windows. Now it's unusable, at least for me. It's amazing how it can have so many features and missing one so fundamental.
  • (2024-03-12) Matt Graham: So close! 1) Please autosave tabs to my sessions - all the tabs I open in that window should be part of the session and session history. 2) allow me to disable suspending of tabs.
  • (2024-03-07) IM Tanuki: Am I missing something? The tab manager maintenance is actually very nicely organized. But seems the only way to use the saved tabs is to open a new tab (to get to the tab manager). What I need, and I think most users need, is the ability to _easily navigate_ to a tab from the extension btn. Useless
  • (2024-02-28) Isaac Lewis: Fantastic extension, wouldn't be able to weed my tab garden without it. Two items it could improve: 1. Collapsed tab groups sometimes don't re-expand in the extension UI. This makes it hard to use the app for it's original purpose. 2. Would be great to align with the new "save tab group" capability now offered natively in Chrome.
  • (2024-02-06) ࣭: For me the only missing feature is moving tabs between saved sessions the same way you can drag them between windows
  • (2024-01-19) Sam Hasler: Thank you, thank you, thank you! I finally feel like I have to tools to deal with all my tabs (~2500 tabs in 23 windows). I've tried other extensions (Session Buddy, Tabs Outliner, TabFern, TabFlow) and this is by far the best, especially for dealing with Tab Groups, there isn't another extension that makes organising tabs into groups as easy.

  • (2023-09-30) Daniele: Awesome extension! The only missing functionality for my opinion is the ability to search inside the "session history" tab. Please consider to add this functionality, like in the "active session" tab.

  • (2023-09-18) Panagiotis Kassianidis: Very good work, congratulations, the best extension out there for managing groups across windows. I propose 2 additions that will make it perfect: - Take the name of the windows from the browser instead of generating random ones. I am using Edge and when I give the window a name through the native functionality, I would expect it is reflected in tabmanager but it's not - When restoring a window from a saved session, you should if possible restore the tabs in suspended mode because otherwise it takes forever and the performance is very slow...

  • (2023-07-26) Emmanuel: The extension is really good at managing opened tabs... but sessions not so much. It would be MUCH MUCH better if it had better tools to organize and edit your saved sessions. For example: If you have a saved session with multiple windows, and want to work only on one window and later on make changes to such window, there is NO way at all to update it in the session. You have to restore the WHOLE session, delete your previous one and save a new one, which is a hassle.
  • (2023-07-14) Cla Sg: Very complete Tab Manager extension. Most desirable functionalities are available and works without problems. Of course improved form of implementation and more functionalities are welcome. I liked it.

  • (2023-07-10) lawrence lee: Basically just cluster with a subscription to sync and you can't view active windows with saved closed ones at the same time

  • (2023-06-24) Sorin Acela: This is even more stupid than other session managers, It takes forever to restore a session. It doesn't work like Chrome session restoring, meaning opening all windows and THEN trying to connect with each tab address. This piece of junk opens the next window AFTER it connected to the addresses of all the tabs of the current window. It you have 20 windows of 10 tabs each, it takes forever to have all the windows available. More than that, the windows are opened in a random order! More than that, at least one window was lost. Do not rely on this piece of junk.
