Automatic Tab Opener
Description from store

Our extension, "Automatic Tab Opener" allows you to automate the opening of multiple URLs based on a cron expression or predefined intervals (e.g., daily, hourly, every minute).

Simply input the URLs you want to open and specify the frequency at which they should be opened. The cron expression follows the standard format, with the ability to specify minute, hour, day of the month, month, and day of the week. For example, to open the URLs every day at 8am, you would enter "0 8 * * *". Or, you can choose one of the predefined intervals (e.g., daily, hourly, every minute, specific days) from the dropdown menu. The extension will then open the specified URLs at the specified frequency, saving you time and effort in manually opening them yourself.

With "Automatic Tab Opener" you can streamline your daily tasks and focus on more important things.

The "Active" toggle doesn't actually seem to work; all of the scheduled tabs are opened at the scheduled time even if they are disabled. Would be useful to be able to schedule for specific calendar dates in addition to weekly.

Love it, thanks! Sometimes it stops working though - some voodoo of disabling/enabling & perhaps restarting Chrome & it's back to work again. I think it started to break only recently - either Chrome or this extension's new version could've caused it maybe? FWIW, I do have the "Let Google Chrome run in the background" setting enabled on my browser. Another thing that I love is the feature of not necessarily opening a new tab & just bringing an optionally existing one to focus - this also seems to have been misbehaving lately, but looks like I solved it by appending a "/" suffix to my URL - interestingly, when tab opens, the URL doesn't show this trailing slash in the address bar though - but then again, this made the existing tab to be reused as I wanted. I can also confirm that the auto-close feature doesn't always work for me either - I noticed it's almost certain not to work if using a very long interval in milliseconds to represent minutes (not anywhere near max-int though).

The tool works pretty well and is fun to use! 😄 But I think having a "Clear All" button would make it even better — starting over manually takes quite a bit of time. Just a small tweak, but it could really boost the experience!

Does NOT open new tabs automatically

Really nice for allowing other extensions to pick up Google events and chain actions together

The active feature doesn't work. It still opens tabs although it is disabled.

can auto open but sometimes not auto close

i agree with Élio Tomás about the bulk editing cron expression entries, but don't understand why they would mess up the rating of the extension for just that alone. i agree with Ryan Leach about the auto close feature being way too fast to be useful for most things, but the same goes for that review. 2 stars? come the hell on, people. the extension seems to work fine and is very tiny, which is great.

Very useful extension. But would be better with option to "add / edit in bulk" :D Specially now with chatgpt (or simple excel), we could generate a lot of entries and add them as text in bulk

To the people that say "There is no option to edit entries", there is now To the people that say "There is no option to set it to a certain day", learn to use cron expressions This is a great extension if you learn to use it properly

No options to run it on specific days. No option to edit created entries. "Focus" doesn't work. There is a beautiful extension for Firefox which is 10 times better. It's really better to install Firefox for this functionality.

I recommend as it does the job pretty well. I suggest to the developer to add the option to modify existing configurations.

using cron notation is awkward. tabs open in background without any option of opening it as the active tab. Auto-close seems to close the tab instantly. Turning auto-close off, means that multiple instances of the tab remains open. Ideal, would be only 1 instance of the tab remaining open. e.g. being able to set a 1 hour timer, having the tab open every hour, and the previous one closed.
