Description from store
asbplayer is a language-learning assistant, developed for serious language learners who are learning their target language through subtitled media.
Unlike similar extensions such as Language Reactor or Migaku, asbplayer is completely free, open source, and compatible with almost every streaming video service that exists.
Using asbplayer, you can enhance any streaming video element with:
- Text-selectable subtitles. You can bring your own subtitle files, or use auto-detected subtitles on popular streaming services like Netflix, YouTube, Hulu, Disney Plus, and Amazon Prime.
- UI and controls to create high-quality Anki flashcards with subtitles, screenshots and audio.
- UI and controls for navigating between subtitles, toggling subtitles on and off, changing the playback rate of the video, and more.
- Special playback modes that e.g. skip all un-subtitled sections of the video in order to to focus your learning.

- (2024-10-23) Nathan P: I seem to be having an issue where most of the time I load ASB player on a youtube video the subtitles don't synch with the audio. I've tried to play around with some settings and it doesn't seem to fix the desync issues. I would appreciate any help.
- (2024-10-03) A land: It‘s really the best extention for anki I've ever seen!!! But also when mining on youtube, it seems that the recording ends several milliseconds ahead of the cutting ponit. After I set the cutting point and hit the white dot at right of the audio field, it starts to record and I hear the audio exactly I need. But opening the card on anki, I just find the audio is imcomplete, so that everytime when I am mining, I need to give sevral more milliseconds and check every time to make sure the last few words are included. It is also a liitle bit difficult to measure and often include some words in the next sentence. Whereas, the starting ponit always mathes the the setting. (I set both Audio Padding End and Start as 0) I would really appreciate if you could help to fix the issue or kindly ponit our some setting mistakes I made. Once again, this is really amazing extention!!!!!!!!!!!
- (2024-09-20) Bautista Palacios: This is the best extension that I ever saw. I love it because a can see any site with the special subtitles, lenguaje reactor can´t do that, and the best of all is that you can change de speed of the subtitles with just changing the speed of it.
