What is Homer (formerly KoalaData)?
An app working on domain.com.au:
- Displays the price history, past auctions, creation date and search price range for listings, including rentals.
- Median rent and gross rental yield.
- Let user post auction results.
- Extract the price from the Statement of Information (no more "Price on application"/"Contact agent").
Is it working in my state/territory?
Yes, Homer works for properties in all Australian states and territories (NSW, VIC, NT, QLD, WA, TAS, SA, ACT).
Why Homer?
As buyers, we grew frustrated not being able to get more transparent information about real estate listings in Australia.
Copying and pasting addresses and URLs in multiple websites in order to get more information was a very laborious and uncertain process and I just wanted something clean.
Australian people deserve clean and trustworthy data to make an informed decision for the biggest purchase of their lives.

- (2025-07-07) Lol Lol: useful extension but it seems to cause repeated page refreshes when moving and zooming in the map view on domain. also some properties seem to have listing price changes shown by shortlisting on domain, but homer doesnt detect any listing change history.

- (2025-06-10) Aditya Kumar: I had just installed it (domain.com.au already open) and thought it wasn't working. Then I refreshed the page and bam! All the information was there and I didn't have to go hunting multiple websites. Excellent piece of work!

- (2024-11-25) Xiji Dai: Looks like Domain has anti-system that the previous listed price can not be captured by Homer. I am pretty sure some properties have changed price guide few time but when it is sold, Homer says no price listing in the history.

After being able to see listing and relisting dates and prices it gave me the confidence that my offer to the agent was reasonable / realistic and how many lies they were telling. Couldn't recommend koala data enough and feel much gratitude to the app developers. A must have for house hunting.

- (2023-03-14) sam rolfe: Good extension - however on map view on Domain.com.au it will constantly recalibrate the view and force a wider view. Its incredibly annoying as it prevents map view from working - which is basically the entire point of the site. So the view will constantly zoom back out to take in a much larger area, which then removes many of the houses you are trying to view in that area. Wish it could be fixed.
