This is the Web Helper extension for LanSchool. It extends the capabilities of the LanSchool Student software. This extension only works in a LanSchool classroom environment with LanSchool student software installed.

- Hello! As a school administrator, I highly do not support this extension. We recently had a security breach where our IP Address was leaked and all of our students personal information was leaked. And we believe LanSchool is the reason behind it. LanSchool is very old and doesn't fit new technology these days and feels like it should be used on computers like Windows 3 or 4. I don't feel comfortable using LanSchool due to security problems and issues leading to the unsafety of out students. This is also very hard to navigate through and especially for our older teachers/administrators at our school. Is what I would say if I was an actual teacher. LanSchool just sucks

- This is Spyware, and as others have mentioned it lags your laptop, steals your data which get stolen by hackers, and blocks most of the internet even stuff that you need for school.

- I don't feel comfortable using my personal gmail account at school because of the lack of privacy and felt nervous making my resume on the schoolboard provided laptop for the same reason. It messes with my learning, as I can't do things optimally when I'm worried about my security and other things. And on multiple occasions I couldn't access what my teachers wanted me to for work completion. This spyware shouldn't be an enforced part of learning by schools and schoolboards. Remove this now.

- The first reason I already extremely dislike LanSchool Web Helper is because of how annoying it is. I haven’t had my school computer for even a day yet, and I’ve already encountered numerous interruptions because my screen freezes, caused by this software. Not to mention, my computer is a new one, so I can only imagine what students with older hardware go through. Additionally, my school's overuse of the system has led to great agony. Half the websites I try to use are blocked for no reason. Even trying to edit some photos—not games or anything inappropriate—I get blocked. I can’t enhance my browsing with any extensions because they’re all blocked, even ones meant for education. My school clearly doesn’t even know what they’re blocking, just obsessed with control. Secondly, I get that kids shouldn’t be playing video games in class, but schools need to trust their students more so they can build relationships with teachers, which actually helps learning. If a student messes around, they’ll face the consequences eventually—failed tests, college rejection, etc. If the system were used more leniently, it might actually help. A teacher guiding students back to focus is better than one relying on harsh tech limits that savvy students bypass anyway. Third, let’s talk about student privacy. In the LanSchool Privacy Statement (link at bottom), it says the school (the customer) must get consent from users (students) to collect and store their personal info. It also says users must be notified their info is being collected and could be shared with third parties. Neither I nor my parents gave consent, and I didn’t even know this was happening until I stumbled on the extension and read the reviews. It does say schools can consent for parents, but that still leaves out us—the students—which is ridiculous. If I didn’t even know my data was being taken, how could I ever have a say? I should also mention it collects info from teachers too—like their chats with students and each other. This software is definitely unconstitutional as it profiles people, sometimes without their knowledge. While the statement says they don’t sell your data, it’s still shared with third-party companies. On page 7, it says: “Stoneware and Lenovo contract with other companies, who act as our suppliers... such services may require Stoneware to share your information with our service providers.” They claim to make efforts to prevent abuse, but they also admit leaks can happen. Since they're international, they store your info worldwide. Imagine if your name, address, and passwords were leaked in another country where people wouldn’t hesitate to use that to impersonate, control, or endanger you. Yes, they say you can ask to have your data deleted, but how would you even know to do that if you didn’t know it was collected? They say they notify you on their website or through a company-linked email—two things most students don’t check or even have. In conclusion, this software is annoying, unproductive, maybe illegal, and definitely dangerous. Personally, it’s already taken both my email accounts, which I now have to reset. This Google extension shouldn't be available for schools to use, and I would very strongly not recommend. However, if you wish to contribute to the start of a completely monitored society, then I guess this is for you. One star. - (this account was hacked) This extension sucks. Teachers can actually abuse this power to control students computers like for example, blankscreening. We do not deserve to get this installed to our school laptops. Now I know that it's not our account but the extension just makes it worse. Oh and one more thing, it can GET YOUR ILLEGAL STUFF. Yeah... this is a reason this deserves 1 star.

- This app watched me wipe myself in the bathroom while i was taking a MASSIVE dookie. Now i cant watch lanky box and still water mango mango troll face edits. I was at my school and this app turned off my roblox game. I was in the middle of grinding pet simulator x when a message pops up covering my screen telling me to stop gambling on roblox. I then proceeded to scream sigma skibidi 911 until the teacher unblocked my screen. I need this app to be deleted or i will report it to the fbi, cia, nypd, lapd, fsb, kgb, gign, sas, and i will call social services. - SALAMATTT MY BROTHER. this extension is great :) because now i can make sure the pdf file school IT neckbeard department can watch me goon to toast falling over i love it. if your in your school IT department and you hate kids this is perfect for you. On a serious note I found out how to make my own unblock games website or where to find proxy sites because of this app. your just going to train kids to find ways around auithoity that invades your privacy. i don't even log into my home pc on my school account because of this app and others like it. high schoolers shouldn't be treated like they are 5 year olds with such a short leash. This is what happens in classrooms a lot with this invasion of an app: hes playing games on example.com, Teacher blocks app or shuts down tab, Kid goes on youtube instead, closed, blocked or shutdown again. kid has had enough, hates his teacher and does anything else instead of the pointless work in front of them (i only rated this 5 so school admins would see this not students who want a laugh this program sucks)
