This extension removes the New York Times' election 'needle' interactive infographics from the front page
"Needle-Be-Gone" is an extension that magically removes the New York Times' "election needle" from 2020 presidential election coverage online.
Specifically, it removes the needles from the home page, and from the top of the election-tracker main page, too.
With this extension, you can enjoy the Times' superb coverage without having to, you know ... look at the needle.
It should work *reasonably* well, at least on the night of Nov. 3, 2020. But if the Times changes any of the layout on those pages, it could stop working. Oh well.
(Full disclosure: I'm a tremendous fan of the New York Times' journalism! In fact, I *write* for the New York Times Magazine. But the needle... sue me, it gives me the jitters.)
Note: The terrific needle icon I used in this extension is a Creative-Commons-licensed graphic by Untashable, available here: https://thenounproject.com/term/injection-needle/1667672/
