⚡️ What is AI Generated Content?
AI-generated content originates from AI chatbots such as Chat GPT. Its designed to generate human-like written content by analyzing and processing large amounts of text data. This AI technology has become a tool for students to cheat and is undetectable by standard plagiarism tools.
⚠️ Some Limitations
The ability to detect AI is not 100% accurate, which means it can generate false positives. Percent Human is 95% accurate at detecting GPT-3 and ChatGPT with a false positive rate less than 0.2%. On large samples of text, Percent Human is extremely accurate at detecting AI-Generated Text.

- (2024-01-16) Mark Daniels: Such tools are useful in trying to determine whether you're conversing with a real person or a robot; however if you use it to try and determine the validity of text on a website, say an article, it becomes harder to determine whether it really is looking for AI or human content. I used the tool to scan an article I'd written from scratch and it determined it was only 2% written by a human. This is most likely because I had used (and also referenced) other content due to the nature of the article and it therefore scored the article highly for plagiarism. It's difficult to truly determine AI and this is more a plagiarism detector - valuable where needed but not always accurate.
