• (2024-01-30) mars ୨୧: Although the app does what it's supposed to, I think people may be overreacting rather than showing their concern. 1. I myself despise this app, alongside any other apps districts download to monitor activity even when they shouldn't be, although I believe that since the computer DOES belong to the district & should be used for school only, this app does serve a purpose. 2. I personally, if I had the option, would remove this app. I prefer Blocksi or IBoss, but this app just makes me me feel unsafe every time I work on my school computer. All in all, this app does what it's supposed to, but what it's doing is still not okay.
• (2023-11-25) Zachary Dongelo: Having the LanSchool extension installed on my school computer for over a year and a half, I find myself compelled to share my experience. This software, which allows teachers and administrators to monitor student activity, was installed without my consent, a fact that I find deeply unsettling. Two years ago, I found myself in the unenviable position of having this software on my school computer. The experience was far from pleasant. The concept behind ‘LanSchool’ is understandable to a degree - it allows educators to keep track of what students are doing on their computers. However, the implementation of this idea is where my concerns lie. The installation and use of such software without the explicit consent of the user is, in my opinion, a clear violation of privacy rights. It’s one thing for schools is to want to ensure that their resources are being used appropriately, but it’s another thing entirely to do so without transparency or respect for student privacy. In conclusion, while ‘LanSchool’ may have its merits in an educational context, its use without student consent/confirmation raises serious privacy concerns that cannot be overlooked.
• (2023-06-11) Dragos Creator: There is no privacy at all. Even when your teachers aren't using it currently, it still pesters you to share your screen with them. There is a cancel option that doesn't even work. I'm currently having to close the LanSchool tab every 10 seconds. Even when I'm home from school. I still get forced to share my screen. I bet you not one single student ever agreed that this was a good idea. People are already blocking random websites that aren't school related and now they're spying on us?! Who even though it was a good idea to A) make it in the first place and B) Use it to spy on students. People are claiming that "ItS ToTaLlY tO gEt YoU gUyS tO sTaY fOcUsEd!" They need to stop capping. This app sucks. It's only use is to spy and invade privacy. *Mike Drop*

• (2023-02-01) Charles Axer: invasion of privacy whenever and wherever you use the school computer, and forcefully downloaded if you sign in a school account, accepts the terms and conditions forcefully, also it is considered a VIRUS because an outside force is changing tabs, watching you, etc. I will SUE if it does not change to only works when connected to school internet OR if it is not removed. • (2022-03-17) Richard Nixon: Not the best app. It allows teachers to look at what you're doing, so they can make sure you are not doing the wrong things on the Chromebooks BUT, it removes all privacy you have on the Chromebook. Nothing you can do will stop it, it will only reopen even when you use task manager to end the process, in the end, it's like a fly that doesn't go away from you, it only annoys you. The schools think it is a good idea but removing a student's privacy, especially at the middle school level is just bad. Not the greatest app here, but also is better than the scams.

• (2021-09-03) The Scoot: Has no security on any data it collects, super easy for hackers to access. If someone get's into the app (very easy to do), they can completely control any device the app is connected to. This includes microphones and cameras, and any passwords and logins entered. This means if a student takes the device home at night, any child predator with a bit of technical knowledge can watch the kid through the webcam, without the kid knowing. This app absolutely should NOT be put on any personal devices. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen.

This should be removed untill they fix this MAJOR Issue. It was installed without my consent and ACCPETED all privlages WITHOUT me doing a thing exept logging in.
