Effortlessly navigate and organize your tabs with an intuitive tree-style view

Description from store
Web browsing often involves opening multiple child pages from a single website. Traditional horizontal tab rows fail to effectively display these parent-child relationships. Tab Nodes Tree solves this problem with its vertical, tree-structured layout, allowing you to instantly grasp the hierarchy of your open pages at a glance. With drag-and-drop functionality, you can effortlessly rearrange and restructure your tab hierarchy as needed.
Moreover, horizontal tabs frequently truncate page titles due to limited space, making it challenging to locate specific open tabs. With Tab Nodes Tree, you can see full page titles, significantly enhancing your ability to navigate between tabs.
This extension is particularly beneficial for power users who regularly work with 50 or more open tabs. It's also ideal for those with widescreen displays, as it makes efficient use of extra horizontal space that often goes unused.
Experience a more organized and intuitive way to manage your tabs with Tab Nodes Tree!

- (2025-06-16) D. Manh Phan: hope chrome make this app default, it helps me so much when browsing websites But one more thing, can you add feature like Tab search at the bottom instead of new tab ?
- (2025-06-09) Patrick Michaelsen: Best tab tree experience I have found for chrome, I tried a couple. Sleek modern UX, handles Chrome tab groups gracefully, highly configurable. My reason for the poor review is a decent suite of features are locked behind the pro experience. I migrated to Chrome because of a work requirement, but I typically use Sidebery for FF. Sidebery has a much more comprehensive feature set with a lot of additional configuration options (such as double click to clone tab). I would be very appreciative if the developers took a look at some of the features Sidebery supports and considered adding them to their next priority review.
- (2025-05-30) Andrei Miculita: Very smooth, good experience so far, except: The reason I deduct 2 stars is that it does not show the loading spinner at the same time as the tab indicators in the top bar. Seems to start showing the spinner 3-4-5 seconds later. It can be very annoying when browsing a website, because you don't get feedback straight away that your click on a link was registered and you are navigating to a new page.
- (2025-04-30) Zeke Rodriguez: As someone who is going from Firefox to Chrome as a work requirement, this is just what I'm looking for. 5 stars for sure. However, I'm having trouble finding a way to get it to show on the left side instead of the right side. Is this an option?
- (2025-04-23) james bailey: so far so good
- (2025-04-07) Artemi Lebedev: Beautiful but works only for the current window, please make viewing all windows
- (2025-03-23) Brice Due: Hello, nice extension, clean and easy to use. One question: WHY DOES IT BLOCK MY PASTE OPERATIONS AND ASK ME TO "INSTALL" ANOTHER EXTENSION? In Google sheets, with Tab Nodes Tree enabled, I can copy cells, but cannot paste because your extension intercepts Ctrl-V and context menu paste and puts up a big popup saying (in 36pt text!): >Enable copy, cut, and paste? >To copy, cut, and paste using the Edit menus, install this Google Chrome extension to your browser. >Alternatively, you can always use your keyboard shortcuts: >Ctrl+C Ctrl+X Ctrl+V >for copy for cut for paste Your extension is either dishonest or hacked. [...actually this appears to be a Google restriction that your extension is triggering for reasons you don't state. See update below.] This popup only occurs when I enable and activate your extension. I have no other extensions active, except the stock Drive integration. The popup does not appear if I disable your extension. The problem is clearly in your extension. I will gladly provide you a screenshot if you provide a way to send it. I would love to give you 5 stars, but this is a very serious breach of trust. Please explain. If you cannot, or will not, please remove your extension until you can. Google will not let me post this without giving you 1 star, so I give it only for that reason. Best, -brice UPDATE: this popup is a Google security warning. See links below. So your extension is not hacked, BUT IT IS DOING SOMETHING WRONG or this popup would not appear. Why does your extension want to intercept copy & paste actions? And if this is necessary, WHY DON'T YOU DOCUMENT THESE SECURITY ISSUES? Still a deep deep trust violation on your part. Please explain. https://zapier.com/blog/why-cant-you-copy-and-paste-in-google-docs/ https://grantwinney.com/why-do-i-need-to-install-an-extension-just-to-copy-paste/ UPDATE 2: Now I am truly livid! After uninstalling your extension, the popup won't go away. Something you did has triggered a permanent change in my browser! Thank you! Why did your extension need to intercept copy & paste in the first place? I've been using the right click context menu in Google Sheets for months without ever triggering this popup. Now I can't right click paste because of your sloppy coding. If you can explain the original need for these hooks, I might remove this very angry review. The fact that Google has now marked my browser as a security risk is most likely beyond your control. Whatever permissions your manifest requested should have been clearly stated. The consequences of installing your extension should have been clearly stated. Ignorance is not a defense. After unsuccessfully trying chrome://flags, I'm contemplating a wipe & reinstall of my Chromebook. UPDATE 3: A solution for reverting to the pre-Tab Nodes Tree state, for anyone else bitten by this issue. The second article above mentions the Google Docs Offline extension contains the same workaround as the extension pushed by the popup. This extension doesn't show up if you search the Chrome web store, but the second article links it, and I include the link here below for your convenience. I successfully got rid of the copy & paste popup by uninstalling and reinstalling this Google extension: https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/google-docs-offline/ghbmnnjooekpmoecnnnilnnbdlolhkhi
- (2025-03-14) Brandon: Thought this might've been the replacement for Tabs Outliner (the best there is) I've been searching for. Unfortunately you can't save tabs/windows to then reopen later and you can't see all your windows in the extension, you can only see the tabs in the window currently in focus... What is the point of this extension even...
- (2025-02-20) William Andersson: What an amazing extension. Easily the best of all the ones I tried. Feels native, it's smooth, fast, works great. 5 out of 5 stars. Thank you!
- (2025-02-09) Brandon: FINALLY a worthy tab tree... Firefox used to be my default and Tree Style Tabs (only on firefox, not the same as the chrome one with the same name) was an absolute necessity. I've tried dozens of chrome's vertical / tree tab extensions and none of them were as good, most were worse than nothing, some were decent in some ways but missing key features. THIS extension finally solves my years long search to complete my Chrome setup. THANK YOU
- (2025-02-06) Sim Z: Easy 5 start. I have been waiting for similar tab manager for years. This is the closest similar experience I could get comparing to Arc browser: side panel, tree style, tab grouping etc.
- (2025-01-29) Caleb Allen: I've been waiting for a well made tree-style tab manager for Chrome for YEARS, this is fantastic. Kudos to the developer, they clearly understand what people are looking for. Honestly, this is probably the biggest boost to my productivity in a long time. I'm happy to pay for a license to the pro version if it means this will continue to improve! One minor suggestion is a setting to alter the animations. They look great, but I'd love to be able to speed them up!
- (2025-01-23) Troy Jones: Not quite as good as Tree Style Tab that's available in Firefox, but pretty close. Would be 5 stars if we didn't have to open it first thing, otherwise it doesn't seem to track the stack.
- (2025-01-21) Tao Yao: Finally something comparable to the counterpart available in Firefox!
- (2025-01-09) Rey Su: A fancy extension, but it would be great if you can add the search function!
- (2024-12-10) jones: good extension, closest thing to tree style tabs on ff. only features that I wish to see in the future: themeable context menu, drag and drop trees (i think this is being worked on already), middle click whitespace to open new tab, and dropping tabs out to a new window seamlessly
- (2024-11-28) Avijit Menon: Yup definitely amazing extension, and its awesome to see how active developers are and that they listen to user feedback. 5 stars for sure, just two suggestions 1. Mirror tab grouping collapse/expand in tab tree (or provide the option). If I expand or collapse a native group in horizontal tabs, do the same thing in the tab tree 2. The option to undock the sidebar so it could be on a seperate window or its own page as an intermediate until we can shrink sidebar size. Thanks!
- (2024-11-22) James Rodgers: Nice work. Might I request the ability to make the sidebar smaller than the current minimum if possible.
- (2024-11-21) Andre Erbis: Best tree style tab plugin out there
- (2024-11-01) Karla Kunze: This is simply awesome ! I have been waiting and looking for this the past ten years. Now I can finally use Chrome more frequently than Firefox. First Chrome Extension that really brings us the Tree-Style-Tabs experience as known from the classic Firefox Plugin. Thanks to tab-nodes-tree.app and @piro for the original idea. This is the only Chrome Extension that really docks as a sidebar and remains open in all tabs! I may have to figure out some things, like hiding the main horizontal tab bar in Chrome, if possible, but that is an exercise with the Tree-Style-Tabs under Firefox too, i.e. editing the userChrome, etc.
- (2024-10-25) Ming-Liang Wong: best tab manager I found in Chrome
- (2024-09-30) Tien Dat Pham: I really like it very similar to the one from firefox would be nice to be able to switch sides, a prefer have it on the left
- (2024-09-26) Alan Urmancheev: Don't really want to leave a bad review since this works. The text of tabs is blurry when not focused. Sticking to vertical tabs in Brave for now.
- (2024-09-22) Michael Jennings: BEYOND perfect. Great job on this!!!
- (2024-09-18) Jitian Deng: Finally! I thought I would be bound to Firefox forever because of the lack of tree-style tab support elsewhere, now I'm relieved from that curse :)
- (2024-09-01) Ida Bliss: I really love how I can edit my tab trees in the side bar and minimise, and how it integrates with the native Chrome tab groups. I just WISH I could view it as a drop down menu instead of a sidebar
- (2024-08-28) Martín Santana: I've been using this for about 5 minutes and I already replaced my go-to vertical tabs extension. This one is slightly better in a number of ways (like being able to customize the colour of the groups), it performs *much* more quickly and reliably compared to anything else I've ever used in chrome, and the pro options sold me entirely - I'm definitely getting that as soon as I can.
- (2024-08-26) Eric Silva: Exactly what I was looking for! Tysm
- (2024-08-22) Ramon Sua: I FINALLY FOUND ONE. I have been resisting switching over to chrome because of the lack of a good implementation of tree-style tab. This finally did it. THANK YOU
- (2024-08-21) Hani Chaaban: Probably the best chrome extension. I do wish there was a setting to "unify" tab groups and the trees, so that when I drag a tab ontop of another tab it just automatically makes a tab group, but since this is the only extension out of 20 that I tested that even supports dragging the tab on top of each other, still giving it 5 stars. Nice job! Secondly, it would be nice to be able to configure if the new tab hotkey opens within the current group (if the current tab is already in a group) or if it would open ungrouped (current behavior) - not sure if this is a browser thing or something you can control though. Also, and I understand this is a personal decision, but I'd love if the pro tier purchases had an option for a lifetime subscription. The 4 and 5 year options are the same discount as 3 years, which feels a bit meh, and disincentivized purchasing the bigger tiers since they only offer a bit of "price lock". If there was an option for Lifetime access at ~50$ or so, I'd have nabbed that. Hope the features can be added in a future release!
- (2024-08-20) Justin Capablanca: Love it
- (2024-08-05) William W: As a software engineer, managing a multitude of tabs is part of my daily routine. Tab Nodes Tree has been a game changer in the way I handle my browser tabs! The pro features are worth every penny. The Quick Navigation Panel allows me to jump between groups and branch tab nodes seamlessly. It saves me so much time and effort, especially when I'm juggling numerous tabs for different projects. An extension that I unexpectedly needed for my day-to-day job! Kudos to the devs!
- (2024-07-31) Vita Liao: Extremely good.
- (2024-07-31) Cho Cho: Simple and practical app.
- (2024-07-23) MicoGoogle: I love the Tab Nodes Tree extension! It makes organising and navigating tabs super easy with its tree-style view. It syncs perfectly with Chrome's tabs, and I can drag and drop to organise them. Grouping and pinning tabs keeps things tidy, and muting/unmuting tabs is simple. The quick navigation panel and customisable themes are great extras. This extension has improved my browsing experience a lot. Highly recommend it!
- (2024-07-23) Allan Wang: This might be the best extension I've ever used. Unlike other similar ones, it has clear UI and great usability during different situation. Big thumb to the developer team !
