Image from store YouTube Watched Marker
Description from store A lightweight extension for Chrome on YouTube.com where you can hide the videos you've already watched. Its main functions are: * Hide or show videos with one click. * Hide or show shorts with one click. * Making a backup of all watched videos (can download as a .txt file). The watchlist is kept in the Chrome cache. Therefore, you can back up your watchlist from time to time and upload your backup in case your Chrome cache is deleted. Problems: * If your page is slowing down due to Youtube's non-refreshing redirect, manually refresh the current page from your browser for faster page loading.

Either an adjustable box transparency feature or a much smaller check box. But otherwise I think it's perfect! UPDATE 7/2025: Thank you for listening to your users! Love this app!!
  • (2025-04-29) Metallsturm: Excellent extension, as I am sick and tired of frequently being shown on a home page videos that I have already seen. Like, c'mon, youtube, with all your resources you can't do that yourself? Even when I select "new to you"? A small question for the dev; do you think it's possible to add an option to also *HIDE* marked videos from appearing on both home and subscription pages? I mean, sometimes it is just annoying to see greyed-out rectangles. Like an option for users, to whether see watched videos as greyed out, or completely gone from their page? Kudos for the extension!
  • (2025-04-27) 권오인: Request for Marking Shortcut Support. After the update, the marker is not displayed on the related video on the right side of the playback video.
  • (2025-04-11) Christopher McEwen: Works well! Wish there was an option to automatically Mark any video you've watched, like the old Watchmarker for Youtube extension which Google just killed last week.
  • (2025-03-27) Winter Wonder World: It really needed me to be able to manually select and manage the videos I watched. For someone, this may be the reason for the low ratings, but I needed something I could control myself. The red bar that automatically marks the video you've watched on YouTube is incomplete and sometimes disappears. Similarly, the automatic marking supported by other extensions that follow this is the same. Plus, if you accidentally delete your viewing history, everything will reset.. I found this because I'm tired of all these things and I'm using it very well. I'm grateful to you, and I want you to keep it for a long time. I hope you can control the transparency of the thumbnail.
  • (2025-03-27) Ibrahim Saied: very good, but the videos in the homepage that was marked before it shows it didn't mark. please fix this issue
  • (2025-03-17) Patty xyz: I love that in this extension, you can manually select which videos you want to mark as watched and which ones you don’t. I previously used Watchmarker, and it sometimes added videos I didn’t want, making it difficult to remove them from the watched database later. Additionally, it has an excellent GUI. I give it 11/10!
  • (2025-03-13) Phoenix Gabriel: I thought this was going to be a replacement for Watchmarker, but having to manually click each video as watched, instead of it being automatic, is a complete dealbreaker.
  • (2025-03-11) Liam Munday: I like the idea of the extension, I just wish it synced across multiple devices. If I mark something as watched on my home pc, it doesn't link to my work pc or laptop. Other then that it's a great.
  • (2025-03-05) Francesco Ricigliano: Great extension! Please just shrink the Red Square since it visually very annoying. It is almost taking 1/6 of the space in the video preview on the right side of the video suggestion. It is useful to grey out a marked video, but not when you still have to watch it. So, shrink it by a lot, or make it more transparent, or just make red the actual white square and remove the big red square. Thanks!
  • (2025-03-03) Eolhin Forest: My previous extension for this was just disabled by Chrome. This looks useful, but it will be incredibly tedious for me to go back and manually mark every video I have seen in the last few years as watched! (It isn't registering a single video as watched automatically.) Why can't this read when the video has a red bar under it, or if it has been liked, and automatically mark those as seen? Please? I couldn't find any other place to leave suggestions.
  • (2025-01-27) Stacey H: It doesn't look like in the pictures, it changed. However it's been the best one I could find. You could actually mark that you've watched the video which is nice as you can skip it if it's been marked as watched.
  • (2024-12-07) Strzellec: Very useful extension! I wish it was on firefox too!
  • (2024-12-02) Mike Bilel: really great extension I just wish the tagging was automatic
  • (2024-09-28) john smith: I liked the idea, but assumed it actually HID videos from search results that I'd already seen. Still having to scroll through reams of stuff seen - just grayed out using this. I guess it's useful for others, but for me with a lack of simple operators in youtube "search" - even negation (try to stop it bringing up terms you don't want, there may be a way but I can't find it) and it throwing back stuff incessantly I've already seen - I've been trying anything that looks remotely like it might make Youtube behave vaguely normally. Now if you could do that....... :)
  • (2024-09-25) The Ordinary Champion: Best extension on chrome! Thank you for doing this!
  • (2024-09-08) Ryan: Excellent, could you please adapt it to firefox.
  • (2024-08-01) Martin Zinke: Could you add the option to sync the watch list from youtube itself with yours? So that all watched youtube videos are marked as watched automatically. An option to hide all watched videos would be cool as well.
