Don't like the new Google AI overviews appearing in your search results? Perhaps you don't like the discussions section or the shopping blocks or even the sponsored links? This extension lets you hide them. It simply uses CSS to set those areas of the page to be hidden (display="none").
AI overviews are hidden by default but the options menu lets you choose what else you might want to hide: Videos, Discussion blocks, shopping blocks, "readers also ask" and sponsored blocks are also available to hide. Note that, if Google changes its CSS, we'll have to update the extension to keep pace.
You can also search the Google web results tab from your address bar by hitting w + space and then entering your query.
Version 2.1: Adds new "What people are saying" section as an option.
Version 2.0: Eliminates new mid-page (after the first result) AI Overviews
Version 1.8: Fixes bug where AI overviews that appeared in the middle of the page were not being blocked.
Version 1.5: Adds support for Danish, Portuguese and Dutch. Fixes bug where blocking video sometimes blocked other blocks on People pages.
Version 1.4: Adds support for 16 languages including English, French, German, Spanish, Korean, Japanese, Mandarin (Trad + Simplified), Arabic, Hebrew, Urdu, Hindi, Thai, Greek, Italian, Polish and Russian.

- Like everyone, I'm tired of Google trying to force-feed me AI slop and fluffed up sponsored links instead of actual content. This extension is a godsend and makes Google actually usable again. Avram, from one programmer to another, you knocked it outta the park with this one. I pair this with Brave Browser and ublacklist (https://ublacklist.github.io/docs) to filter out useless sites and ads; makes for a much better experience.

- I usually just ignore the AI junk at the top of the page when searching, but during a recent coding interview I was told that the AI summary counted as "use of an AI tool", which wasn't allowed during the interview. I tried to find a way to turn it off and was livid to discover that Google doesn't give you a choice. I hate it when insecure companies try to force users to use a product feature that people don't want. Thank you so much for building this extension.

- I've left fewer than 5 reviews for anything, on any website. It's just not my thing. For a woman that still has a flip phone, doing searches online is slightly overwhelming these day. You Sir, have blessed me greatly. I felt my shoulders drop and a sense of being able to breath when I am searching for something. Being online is starting to feel like the isles in the grocery store, everything is taller, crowding in the small space you are trying to maneuver through, and feels like everything is pressing on you "buy me!". I am starting to favor smaller grocery stores, and this Extension that you made has helped me feel a bit more sanity looking for things online without feeling pressed to "click here". - Lovely Plug-In, highly recommended to everyone. Leaving a new review to let the Devs know that when this plug-in is active, Google now requires me to complete a captcha before searching. Kind of annoying, hoping they can figure out a way around that.

- Solid extension, five stars. No complaints at all. Google has recently deigned to start trying to give me suggested AI searches *directly from the search bar*, in any new tab I open, however. I, for obvious reasons, dislike this. Here's hoping this segment gets the dev's attention and a patch is made, if possible!

- I can still access AI Overview but, it blocks out most Ai junk. I see that the Dev, keeps on fixing and upgrading every single time their is a problem. I love how people are waking up and seeing AI is very terrible to the environment. As a indigenous person, I am happy, people still care about earth. <3 Oops I didn't add {google:baseURL}/search?udm=14&q=%s to my extension and made it default. It works 100% now. Read carefully guys lol!

- Used to be good but it stopped working. Still gonna give it 5 stars because I know the Dev will try to fix it and should be encouraged to do so. (AI results fill in the "People Also Ask" section now, and also forces itself in at the top when you click on an image to do a search on it).
