Description from store
Don't like the new Google AI overviews appearing in your search results? Perhaps you don't like the discussions section or the shopping blocks or even the sponsored links? This extension lets you hide them. It simply uses CSS to set those areas of the page to be hidden (display="none").
AI overviews are hidden by default but the options menu lets you choose what else you might want to hide: Videos, Discussion blocks, shopping blocks, "readers also ask" and sponsored blocks are also available to hide. Note that, if Google changes its CSS, we'll have to update the extension to keep pace.
You can also search the Google web results tab from your address bar by hitting w + space and then entering your query.
Version 1.8: Fixes bug where AI overviews that appeared in the middle of the page were not being blocked.
Version 1.5: Adds support for Danish, Portuguese and Dutch. Fixes bug where blocking video sometimes blocked other blocks on People pages.
Version 1.4: Adds support for 16 languages including English, French, German, Spanish, Korean, Japanese, Mandarin (Trad + Simplified), Arabic, Hebrew, Urdu, Hindi, Thai, Greek, Italian, Polish and Russian.

- (2025-08-21) RobbD: Works great! A.I. is making people even dumber than they already were.
- (2025-08-21) Kalen Altman: This is an absolute necessity given googles insistence on forcing ai into your life with no tools provided to disable it. Ai should be a Feature, set to be toggled off and on, NOT the top search result. "Do no evil" more like "Do every evil imaginable"
- (2025-08-21) Fourth “Fourthy” Beam: The fact that Google doesn't allow you to turn off its AI Overviews is absolutely insane. It is wrong SO often, like genuinely 80% of the time it is straight up, not only wrong but CONFIDENTLY wrong. I seriously cannot believe Google haven't been sued for it. Imagine you're asking for health advice and this thing tells you you are fine when you clearly need to see a doctor. It also steals views from struggling websites that survive off of views and clicks. AI Overviews are the first domino in a long line of negative outcomes that AI is going to create for humanity. Whoever is in charge at Google and decided to allow this should be utterly ashamed of themselves.
- (2025-08-20) Patrik Dahl: Thank you! This addon really helps me save time and sanity removing halucive AI slop!
- (2025-08-18) Gangshifter Krang: Thank god
- (2025-08-13) Thomas Khos: This trash also doesn't work 100% the time, just sometimes
- (2025-08-12) Jeff Combs (RabbitDFFD): This WORKS. Also, after installing, it gives directions on restricting Google search engine to WEB ONLY allowing you to bypass all of their "suggestive" junk. Wish I found this sooner !
- (2025-08-06) Kilroy 5150: Must be for "old" Google AI because i've been refreshing the same page after installing it and it's in full working order. I've done the search over and still there..
- (2025-08-04) Starigniter: It's simple: it's not working.
- (2025-08-03) Ian Su: Thank you so much man, the ai overview is so annoying...

- (2025-08-01) Cris Fuhrman: Works, but I'm still seeing "People also search for" even though I ticked the option to hide that, too.

- (2025-07-08) Margaret Kloster: This is fantastic - thank you. I couldn't believe that there was no internal chrome setting to remove these. would be great if this extension could add a block of the 'things to know' section.
- (2025-07-05) Evie Moonfield: This seems to work really well so far! Thank you.
- (2025-07-04) Mikkel Gede Hansen: Not working. English, Denmark. Brave w/ Google chrome SE.
- (2025-07-02) Bailey Kane: So grateful for this extension. Cannot believe this isn't a native option in the browser.
- (2025-07-01) James Jackson: I've been using this extension for a few weeks now, and it is life-changing in the sense that it has made Google usable again! When I do a search, I get... search results!!! That's it!!! I find what I'm looking for instead of AI slop, irrelevant discussions, unwanted ads, or dumb canned questions. My biggest fear is now that Google will block it, forcefully disable it, or break it. Geekinchief, you are a saint
- (2025-06-29) Yu Yama: couldn't ask for a more straight foward and easy plugin if I tried! its amazing thank you so much!!!!

- (2025-06-24) Kelly Rafferty: excellent!
- (2025-06-24) Wasp: Works as advertised. Huge quality of life improvement.
- (2025-06-22) Hope Ellen Dennison: Thank you
- (2025-06-22) Patrick Ibrahim: Absolutely excellent plugin
- (2025-06-21) pabluthepebble: works perfectly. google has to stop forcing this retarded ai on people man.
- (2025-06-20) Laura Dijkstra: Thank you so much
- (2025-06-20) Adrian C. Black: Thank you
- (2025-06-20) The Smart-Casual Gamer.: This is the ONLY extension like this that I've tried that actually works. And you can block SPONSORED LINKS AS WELL?! Where has this been the last five years?!
- (2025-06-18) Ronny Williams: OMG, you don't know just HOW GOOD people will complement you for this! AI is destroying the web as we know it, and this is one step closer to bringing back the safe and awesome internet that people always NEED!
- (2025-06-18) Aver V: Blocks AI overviews!
- (2025-06-13) i am not suspicious: Amazing. I hate the AI overviews. Not really sure why every corporation is dead set on adding it to everything when Google was doing fine if not better on its own without it. I also checked out the publication website in the tip jar section. I couldn't leave a review on the articles themselves but I'll say they're not only informative but also an entertaining read.
- (2025-06-12) Kleiner Timmy 9: Works for me
- (2025-06-10) Pavel Formánek: Not working at all :( (maybe Im not at English Google?)
- (2025-06-10) Miyu Rosewood: Worked well... until Google started to screw things up few days ago. Now AI overview appears at random 1 +x position in list instead of first, they several times had reset user profile settings in past four days and even wiped the extensions once (and no, I didn't have Sound Booster addons they claim I had, neither this addon seem share the supply chain attack used in these, but please, check). Apparently Chrome disables add-on's access to website, effectively disabling its main function.
- (2025-06-09) Joseph Seed: Fix it because AI will go through it also Youtube is being very aggressive to adblockers so clearly they're anti-consumerism now
- (2025-06-08) Neko Kawaii: 10\10 works, i will bomb google hq
- (2025-06-08) Oliver C: It worked for the past month but today I did a search and still saw an AI overview, just not as the first result. How cheap if it only works when the AI overview is the first result.
- (2025-06-05) Sus Sus: are you considering making this extension avaliable in other countries? Everyone says this works (which i do belive) but my country is not supported and im getting sick of those stupid ai overviews. thanks :p
