Discernment.crx is a music video extension for the 2020 album The World Will Decide by Negativland by Dina Kelberman for the song Discernment by Negativland from their 2019 album True False.
When executed, the extension manipulates content on the website in time with the music, discerning the information on the page and improving it where possible. Discernment will not work on every website. The world and its internet may remain terrible despite use of this extension.

But for the past couple of years it's been making the background bright yellow on all code snippets on Github. It's been driving me nuts! I have been having such a difficult time reading any code at all on the internet. I kept thinking, wow, I can't believe the Github people (Microsoft?) decided to format their website this way. I mean, I guess it's my own fault for installing random "fun" extensions from bands that I don't even listen to. Finally I decided to check the dev extensions and figured out what was happening. I'm giving it one star out of pettiness LOL, even though it's really my own fault.
