Open link in same tab, pop-up as tab

Worked great until google stopped allowing it! It would be nice if google, I don't know, gave us a setting that allowed us to open in tabs not windows instead of adding tons of freaking extensions that don't work.

Thank you developer for a wonderful extension. This extension was working great till 2025 July 11, then Chrome messed with something and now it stopped working.

Sad Day: This extension is no longer available because it doesn't follow best practices for Chrome extensions. This used to be a great extension, hopefully the author can figure out how to make it follow best practices.

One-of-a kind extension, a must have. However, we no longer can install because Chrome says it no longer "follows best practices"?? We really wish that whatever issues can be hashed out between Chrome and the dev! Pretty please with cherries on top?

This extension was good, can developpers upgrade app to apply to the chart?

Chrome killed this extension. So no longer works. I hope they fix it to work with manifest v3.

I love this extension, it is the best thing and I am so glad I found it. However, this recent update has broken it and is in dire need for help. I would give 5 stars immediately if this extension would work as intended. Update as of 7/4: Extension is running well again. I havent had any issues since a week after I posted this initial review. I am going to raise the review from 3 stars to 4 as the developer made good on his effort to fix this bug. I highly recommend this plugin.

Doesn't work. It would be helpful if the instructions state what's the difference between whitelist and blacklist. Not everyone, in fact, few understand. Also, it should flash or let you know the selected link (should) be opened in the same tab, but it's not. Tested on YouTube with blacklist enabled and disabled. Uninstalled.

Has been a great extension, super helpful until the last week or so. It hasn't been working correctly now. Hoping this review will bring attention to the bug/error.

Super helpful in the past, but my team and I who all use this for our work have been experiencing issues in the past week or so. Only reviewing to bring this to the attention of the devs.

Doesn't work for reddit (reddit.com), my intention was to use this to prevent Notifications on reddit's website from opening new tabs when clicked; with this extension installed, new tabs still opened when clicking these notifications.

It works. There is an option to open the pop-up as a background tab too, but Chrome has to be relaunched after enabling the option for it to function.
