  • (2024-09-20) Tomo Spolja: Works as expected.
  • (2024-09-19) Martin Arapović: Latest version is great. It delivers a robust, cloud-based IDE with seamless collaboration and portability, making it ideal for developers on the move.
  • (2024-09-19) Marko Barić: The new plugin works as expected, definite boost to developer's productivity
  • (2023-06-07) Douglas Lyford: These folks set the low bar for the absolute worst support in the industry. Completely useless. 2 week response time, and then when they do respond they are absolutely no help. Paid account had key features removed with no notice and then when I contact them to ask about it, they take no accountability. Will not respond to inquiries about bugs in THEIR software. Stay away.
  • (2020-12-02) Jake Woodbury: At first it all seemed great until I was in need of Support. If you reach the point that you need support you might as well go find a new program. Also, they do not understand how to give refunds so keep that in mind if you are paying for a year's access. Just stay away.
  • (2019-05-21) Andrew Thomas: Codeanywhere is excellent and I use it a lot. The only reason I've given just 3 stars is that you can't select text to copy and paste, or just delete, with a stylus on a touchscreen. I use a chromebook tablet which doesn't have a physical keyboard, so I find that a big issue. The only way for me to do any useful touchscreen editing on chromeos therefore is to use a bluetooth keyboard. I can select text in other apps/webpages so this is probably just a css style thing. If it got sorted I'd give 5 stars :-)
  • (2018-07-26) Jeffrey Gordon: My editor broke after using it twice. You can't do anything. I contacted support, but was told that support is only provided on paid accounts. I'm not going to pay for something that broke while I was evaluating it. I had a student's free container break in exactly the same way, and I wonder if it's simply a way to get people to pay.
  • (2017-11-02) Erik Feketefoldi: Amazing app! For sure the best coding application available for Chrome OS and and great if you work cross platform all the time! Only thing that would be great to see is a more natural file management!
  • (2017-07-20) Naveen Kumar: that user experience is commendable :)
  • (2017-06-10) Logan Henrie: This is a great website, and my only complaints are that editing files directly in their program tends to be really slow, and as such I just use a local editor and then copy and paste everything into their editor. But in the end, for a free service, Codeanywhere is probably one of the best.
  • (2017-05-21) itvtbadboy: I love it!
  • (2017-04-13) Maciej Dąbek: Not recommend for FTP client.
  • (2017-03-02) Chris Etler: Very useful, especially for web development. It does have support for languages like Java, C, etc, but shines when it comes to webdev. As far as editing over SFTP goes this IDE is actually easier to set up and more reliable to use than the offline IDEs I tried (Eclipse and Atom).
  • (2017-03-02) phuong duy Nguyen: I love it, tks for your app
  • (2016-11-18) Charles Masson: Wow i wanna pay for this. And trust me, I don't usually say that
  • (2016-08-27) Gde Putu Adibayusantika (Gde): i love it! thank u. its free........
  • (2016-08-27) VPM Bali: Just say thank u. wonderful!
  • (2016-06-01) Anita Perković: Works better than Filezilla :) I have downloaded it as a FTP client but I have already tried some of the other options and possibilities, and I am pleasantly surprised. Thank you Codeanywhere team :)
  • (2016-04-09) Awful. Absolutely the worst text editor I have ever seen. Here is a tip. Sell your chormebook and settle for anything else you can get your hands on.
  • (2016-02-23) G: Does not work, Does not uninstall
  • (2016-02-19) Clint Eschberger: Been using cloud based editors for years, including Cloud9, Codeenvy, Codio, and others. None had the price / performance of Codeanywhere. I have over 100 web/app servers that I connect via SFTP. Never really have had any issues. Few glitches here and there, but nothing major. The built in file revision works great and the configuration, while not as clean as others, is extremely powerful. You can really get down to the project and user level on config to create the perfect workspace for each project. Our team of 15 has no problem on collaboration and working together on projects. Some people seem to have some issues because there is a bit more of a learning curve on configuration, but it is very stable and works great. Considering the scale and the amount of hours we spend on the tool, it is extremely stable.
  • (2016-01-26) Ante Elez: Great app, all my code on one place..thank you guys
  • (2016-01-15) David Nunez: I check in on this tool every 6 months-ish to see if they've improved their product, but I keep running into the same unresolved obstacles. Meanwhile codeenvy and cloud9 improve constantly. In fact the latter is much more usable on chrome for android (even on a phone) than the codeanywhere native app. There's no synchronization between the connections I create in the native app and what I see in the website code editor. Plenty of odd, unexplained errors at various spots (the "undefined" description in the profile pull-down menu, the unknown error that occurs during validating an FTP/SFTP connection, the constant failure to take care of expired refresh tokens automatically for Google drive file system integrations, etc, etc, etc). I saw the news today that they are integrating with digital ocean now, so decided to give this a spin once more, but the product (whether from a browser or mobile app) is still full of frustrating rough spots and poorly tested half-finished features that (by contrast) do work well on their competitors products. And sooner or later you gotta wonder if jetbrains will introduce a cloud based IDE too, so hopefully codeanywhere can catch up to the quality level being set by the market by then.
  • (2015-12-21) Tomas Jedlicka: Great app, color coding for my .VUE files is missing though.
  • (2015-11-18) Chris Martinez: Just great, This really makes life easier.
  • (2015-11-16) Towhid Ul: Good job!
  • (2015-11-04) Justin Bane: Worked great for our team at first... then they randomly updated the interface and removed/changed a ton of functionality we really liked. I guess thats the risk you take with a service like this.
  • (2015-09-08) Sergey Golovashkin: Works perfect. Makes chromebook not being as useless as it got to be.
  • (2015-08-14) Eden A. Silvestre: i don't have words to this tool only thank you.
  • (2015-08-14) Nigel Gunn W8IFF: Great app. It's all I use for website updates these days.
  • (2015-08-11) Tim Valentine: nice
  • (2015-07-16) Troy H: Tried to install it and it says I have it on the web store but doesn't show up anywhere on my pc. Pretty sure its a virus
  • (2015-07-04) Ng Zi Jyu (Passerby): Works great, and really helps my side project. But it seems it's just a bookmark to its website. Since it's published as an "app", it would be better to have some app advantage, like storing functional codes in local instead of going to its site every time; temporary offline caching; etc.
  • (2015-06-12) I do love CodeAnywhere, but instead of actually integrating the code into Chrome, this "App" is just a link to the CodeAnywhere editor. What's the point?! A bookmark would work just as well...
  • (2015-06-03) Robert “Tech” Claydon: After a couple of issues with some of the functionality I now use the paid service on a daily basis.
  • (2015-06-02) Lena Nechet: Awesome, thanks.
  • (2015-05-16) Solo Avital EYEMIX VISUALS: love it, simplifies my high priority edits and makes coding on the go in dev or production boxes easily
  • (2015-05-15) Jared Rodriguez: Exactly what I needed, such an amazing program. Thanks so much!
  • (2015-05-15) David B: If all you want is an FTP client to edit files on a mom-and-pop website. This app makes having an FTP client completely unnecessary.
  • (2015-05-13) Bill Carlisle: Fantastic app. Interfaces with GitHub without issues (even private repos if you import your Codeanywhere SSH key). Many of the features you've come to expect in any good programming text editor such as auto-indent, closing parens/braces, and auto-completion. Run your code on a DevBox in the browser. You truly can code anywhere you have an internet connection with this app.
  • (2015-05-07) Carlos Navas: Excellent product, I love it.
  • (2015-05-01) --: I like it. I like it a lot.
  • (2015-04-25) Potson Humer: I like the FTP remote edit !! Awesome!
  • (2015-04-21) Martin Convery: failed to connect to ftp server
  • (2015-04-03) Matt Baker: Cracking app it just works very happy
  • (2015-03-28) Keith Sinclair: Great editor, handy sandbox environments too
  • (2015-03-15) Darlington Wleh: Absolutely love it! Keep up the good work!
  • (2015-03-09) Daniel Servus: Could not join to my own FTP server. Server is working. I don´t know why.
