The Chat GPT Text Background Remover is a simple Chrome extension that allows you to copy and paste text from the Chat GPT AI language model without the background color. When you copy text from Chat GPT, it often includes a background color that can be distracting and make it difficult to read or use in other applications. This extension removes the background color from the copied text, allowing for a cleaner and more usable result.
Tired of pesky background colors getting in the way when you copy and paste text? Worry no more! Our handy extension is here to help. Here's how you can get started:
🌐 Visit chat.openai.com: Head over to chat.openai.com where the magic happens.
🔄 Refresh the Page: If you're already on the page, give it a quick refresh to make sure our extension is ready to roll.
📋 Copy Text: Simply highlight the text you want to copy as you normally would. Don't worry about any background colors; we'll take care of them!
🖱️ Right Click & Copy: Right-click on the selected text and choose "Copy" from the context menu (or use Ctrl + C).
📄 Paste Anywhere: Paste the text wherever you like (with Ctrl + V), and voilà! The background color is gone, but the rest of the formatting stays intact.

- This is amazing! I've been struggling with this for months, THANK YOU! I often ask for headlines and category headings and emojis etc. etc. and it all gets wasted normally with classical format removal key options, I am beyond stoked to find this, I tested it on a number of prompts and it works effortlessly and perfectly.

- Saves me sooo much time, this is super easy to copy/paste into another doc, especially when the ChatGPT response has numbered sections that are bolded and different font sizes, this allows me to keep that w/o the background. Echo the instructions, Key is to select the text with your cursor, NOT use the "copy" icon on ChatGPT. THANK YOU!!!!

- KING! That is exactly what I needed. So many nice formatted lists that I want to download, working like a charm. I'm sure I'll discover smarter AI workflows but as I hack along this is a fantastic piece of the frankenstein.

- Brilliant. To retain formatting such as headings and bullets, I used to get Chatgpt to convert its answer as html code to have it converted in a real-time viewer elsewhere, then copy out of that. This save me a couple of steps and time battling chatgpt to actually do what I asked in full. Thanks Marcus!

- It technically does remove the grey background, but it removed all formatting as well. When I pasted into Google sheets, it did the same as if I had just hit shift+ctrl+v. If this can be updated to keep formatting (bullet points, underlining, etc.) it would be perfect.

- Works Great. In order for it to work properly, log out and log back in from all apps your using. I also tried it and let the app sync with Chat GPT. It works be patients and log out first.

- I just can't see where it removes the background at all, I think paste without formatting works just as fine...I will keep trying

- Technically it does what it says it will do. The problem is, however, it just removes all formatting, so if I have specifically asked ChatGPT to output text with underlining, bold, bullet points etc, you lose all of those as well. The quick solution is to use Firefox :) But this plugin would be greatly improved if it was more selective in its formatting removal. Cheers!

- I liked it for several copy and paste things that had to be done and then it stopped removing the background while asking me repeatedly to buy the developer a cup of coffee. It is impossible to detect if the extension is enabled or not, even if it's in your extension bar. Help?!
