How It Works (Technical Overview)

Discord Image Downloader runs directly on Discord Web. When you open a channel, the extension detects your active Discord session locally and begins scanning messages for image attachments.

The extension collects picture and photo URLs from messages and processes them through a background service worker. During this process, the Discord image exporter builds a ZIP archive in memory containing all detected pictures and photos within the selected date range.

When the scan is complete, the Discord image saver automatically generates a ZIP file and triggers the download so you can store the exported media locally.
