Search by Image (Slash Mark Edition)
Search by Image (Slash Mark Edition) is a powerful browser extension that makes reverse image searching simple and efficient. It supports 30+ reverse image search engines, including Google, Bing, Yandex, Baidu, and TinEye, enabling users to quickly find the origin, usage, or related versions of any image on the web.
The extension is widely useful for journalists and researchers who need to verify image authenticity and detect misinformation on social media. It is equally valuable for photographers and designers who want to track how their work is used online, and for shoppers looking to discover visually similar products and better deals.
Search by Image (Slash Mark Edition) allows image searches directly from the right-click context menu and the browser toolbar. Users can enable, disable, reorder, and customize search engines from the extension’s options to match their workflow.
The extension intelligently detects images on a page regardless of how they are embedded. It also supports searching with:
Images from your device
Images from private or restricted websites
Captured areas of a web page
Multiple search modes are available and can be configured independently for the context menu and browser toolbar:
Search Modes
Select URL – Search using the image URL (default mode)
Select Image – Search using the image file itself, ideal for private or protected sites
Capture – Search using a selected area of the page
Browse – Upload an image from your device or paste from the clipboard
URL – Search directly using an image URL
To search local images opened in a browser tab, the “Allow access to file URLs” option must be enabled from the extension’s details page at chrome://extensions.
During a search, the selected image is sent only to the chosen search engine to perform the request. For details on how data is handled, please refer to the extension’s privacy policy.
