- I was worried screenshots would look strange for reports, but they’re totally fine. That was a pleasant surprise.
- josema gimenez
- I use Sheets mostly at night, and this made a huge difference. My room doesn’t light up like an operating room anymore 😅
- Porcheje
- What I like most is that it works directly in the sheet I’m editing. No switching tabs.
- Jairito Oropeza
- Some custom cell colors look a bit different, but nothing critical. Overall experience is much better than default.
- lara sam 120
- I switch between Docs and Sheets a lot, and having both in dark mode just feels natural now. No more eye shock.
- Ivan Mendelson
- After enabling this, I accidentally opened Sheets without it once — and immediately noticed how bad the white looks.
- Clement Bertillon
- You need to pay

- Works for 3-4 hours and then somehow the "turn on" button switches off and doesn't respond to clicks at all. The only solution for me is removing it from extensions and then reinstalling it. I love the design but this bug is such a bummer.
- Azom Mia
- Finally a dark theme that doesn’t break conditional formatting. That was always the deal breaker for me.
- stas
- You can tell some thought went into this. Details matter, and here they’re handled well.
- Erick Quintero
- Overall just a nice quality-of-life improvement. Once you get used to it, there’s no going back.
- Андрей Аксов
- No settings overload, which is actually nice. You install it and forget about it.
- denis safin
- Not perfect in every single edge case, but honestly close enough. Much better than default.
- Samia Afrin
- It feels more like a native dark theme, not a hack. That's probably the best compliment i can give.
- Mike Muller
- Some update caused Chrome to block it. What is this trash? It worked fine but now is broken due to some update. Great. Use another extension as this may be vibe coded as after updates it just stops working.
- Hoggi
- I noticed I get less headaches in the evening now. Might be placebo, but I’ll take it.
- Dania Ramos
- The contrast feels just right. Dark, but not too dark. Text is clear, grid lines still visible.
- ВЛАДИМИР
- Long scrolling through big tables is way less exhausting now. Didn’t realize how much the white background bothered me before.
- Darell Greer
- I switch between Docs and Sheets a lot, and having both in dark mode just feels natural now. No more eye shock.

- Using this on a laptop with not the best screen, and still looks good. No weird gradients or washed out colors.
- Leonardo
- Simple install, no weird permissions, and it just works. I like that it doesn’t try to be fancy. Dark background, readable text, done.
- Дмитрий Белов
- Tried a couple of dark modes before, but this is the first one I actually kept. Others were either too dark or broke half the UI. Here everything still looks like Google Sheets, just calmer.
- Егор Гар
- Even small fonts are easier to read now, which surprised me. I thought dark mode would make it worse.
- Katie Cervantes
- Installed it at work and at home, same result. Stable and predictable, which I like.
- Natasha Cigankova
- Not gonna lie, I didn’t expect much. But it actually looks professional, not like a cheap invert filter. Respect.
- Виктор Никитин
- Does exactly what it promises. No ads, no popups, no nonsense.
- Alex
- At first I thought “ok, another dark mode”, but after using it for a week I don’t want to go back. White Sheets now feels way too harsh.
- Алексей
- Performance seems unchanged. No lag, no glitches so far.
- Violet Rubin
- I work with financial tables all day and color accuracy is important. Red, green, yellow — everything still makes sense. That’s a big plus.
- Dan Nițu
- imagine asking 50$ for a basic dark mode theme lul
- Pantu Mia
- I’m one of those people who keeps dozens of tabs open, and every time I switched to Sheets the white background felt like a shock. Now the transition between apps is smooth. It might sound like a small detail, but over a working week it saves a lot of eye strain. I also appreciate that it starts automatically with the browser. Set it once and forget.
- Rifki Edan
- Some sheets with crazy color schemes still look weird, but that’s on the authors, not on the extension.
- sara vi
- Works fine together with other extensions I use. Didn’t have to turn anything off. That alone makes it worth it.
- Anna Romanova
- I usually don’t write reviews, but this saved my eyes during night work. Especially when you’re staring at numbers for hours.
- Shaman
- Excellent. Does exactly what I need with a simple toggle of a switch. The taskbar shows us as yellow on black, which is good for nighttime visibility. No complaints here! Possible improvements to make though: giving options to control to what degree the brightness/contrast/greyscale is used. Possibly having different themes like sepia or something dark green or rust-coloured on black? Not strictly necessary but would add extra power to this already ideal plugin.
- Eternal Wrathe
- doesnt work at all on published spreadsheets
- Andre Martin
- Small thing, big difference. My daily reports are much easier to go through now.
- Sanga Bernell
- I spend most of my workday inside Sheets, and my eyes were honestly getting tired by lunchtime. This dark theme makes a real difference. It doesn’t mess up charts or formatting, which was my biggest fear. Feels solid and well thought out.
- Karl Smink
- charging for something this static and simple is just stupid
- Роман Ramzes (Ramzes)
- I use a lot of conditional formatting with red and green indicators, and many dark modes ruin those colors. This one keeps them understandable. The background becomes dark, but the logic of the table remains intact. That’s exactly what I needed. It feels closer to how professional desktop apps handle themes. Definitely not some quick filter slapped on top.
- генадий коренев
- Great for people who jump between Docs and Sheets a lot. My eyes don’t have to adjust to different brightness all the time.
- NH K
- I installed it on both my home and office computers, and the experience is identical. Even on an older monitor the colors look balanced. I was afraid that screenshots for presentations would look strange, but they turned out fine. The extension doesn’t interfere with exporting or printing either. Everything behaves as usual, only more comfortable.
- dodo dodo
- I deal with huge product catalogs and scrolling through them on a bright screen was painful. With this extension long sessions became much easier. Even tiny fonts are clearer because the contrast is better. I tested a few alternatives and most of them made icons or menus unreadable. Here everything stays in place. You can tell the developer paid attention to details.
- Александр Дельфинов
- As a student I spend evenings organizing research data in Sheets. My dorm lighting isn’t great, and the bright interface was painful. This extension made studying at night much easier. I can keep working without feeling like my eyes are burning. It’s one of those simple things you wish you had found earlier.
- Brookely Stewart
- I didn’t realize how aggressive the normal white interface was until I switched to this. After a few days I tried disabling it just to compare, and the regular view looked almost shocking. The extension also works fine together with other productivity add-ons I use. No conflicts, no need to change settings. It’s rare to find something this hassle-free.
- влад Rjibrjd
- Not perfect with some custom color palettes, but overall much better than staring at a bright screen all day.
- Shiltu Paul
- I often work late after putting kids to bed, and the white interface was basically lighting up the whole room. This dark mode changed that completely. Now I can finish invoices without feeling like I’m staring into a flashlight. It also matches the dark themes I use in other apps, so the whole workflow feels smoother. Small improvement, but it affects everyday comfort a lot.
- Satan
- I like that it turns on automatically. I open a spreadsheet and it’s already dark, no need to click anything.
- John Bork
- I was afraid it would look “inverted” and ugly, but the colors feel natural, almost like a native theme.
- Олександр Гавриленко
- Most of my work is financial planning, lots of numbers and long formulas. Readability is critical because one mistake can cost real money. The dark theme actually helps me focus better on the content instead of fighting with the brightness. I like that menus and toolbars stay familiar, nothing gets rearranged. It’s basically the same Sheets, just kinder to the eyes.
